    摘要: A connector has a housing (10) with a cavity (11) and a resiliently deformable lock (13) in the cavity (11). The connector further has a terminal fitting (30) that can be inserted into the cavity (11). The insertion of the terminal fitting (30) deforms the lock (13). However, the lock (13) restores when the terminal fitting (30) is inserted completely, and locks the terminal fitting in the cavity (11). The terminal fitting (30) and the cavity (11) are formed with mutually engageable structures (53, 26) for preventing inclination of the terminal fitting (30) in the deforming direction of the lock (13).

Locks (13) in the housing (10) deform during insertion of the terminal fittings (30) into the cavities (11), but then resiliently restore to lock the terminal fittings (30) in the cavities (11). Lowered portions (12a) of a bottom wall (12) of the housing (10) face the locks (12) and prevent the locks (13) from being excessively deformed. The bottom surface of each lock (13) has a convex arcuate surface (13c) and each lowered portion (12a) of the bottom wall (12) has a recess (12b) substantially conforming to the convex arcuate surface (13c) to accommodate the convex arcuate surface (13c) when the lock (13) deforms.

An operable portion (43) of the lever (12) is at a lateral end of the female housing (10) immediately before the housings (10; 11) are connected and is operated along a connecting direction of the male housing (11). An engaging portion (53) is formed at an end of the lever (12) opposite the operable portion (43) and is engageable with a locking projection (52) on the male housing (11) immediately before the housings (10, 11) are connected properly. Thus, the locking projection (52) receives a force acting along the connecting direction of the male housing (11) as the lever (12) is rotated. In this way, the posture of the female housing (10) is corrected, enabling the two housings (10, 11) to be connected in their proper postures.
