Abstract: A cosmetic composition and a method for preparing the cosmetic composition are provided. The cosmetic composition includes an aqueous phase and oil phase. The aqueous phase comprises at least one water soluble ingredient including at least one non-ionic surfactant. The oil phase comprises a transformative agent, at least one thickener and at least one solvent. The transformative agent comprising at least 1% of at least one butter and at least 1% of at least one oil, the transformative agent having a butter to oil ratio of from about 2:5 to about 9:10. The cosmetic composition has a transformative texture.

Abstract: Cosmetic compositions providing improved retinol penetration. The cosmetic compositions typically include about 0.01 to about 3 wt. % of retinol; about 0.1 to about 14 wt. % of sodium polyacrylate; about 0.2 to about 10 wt. % of one or more nonionic emulsifier; about 0.5 to about 12 wt. % of a fatty phase, wherein the fatty phase comprises one or more fatty compounds; and water, wherein the cosmetic composition is an oil-in-water emulsion, and all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. Methods for treating damaged skin with cosmetic compositions are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: Skin-tightening compositions for providing a physical tightening effect to the skin and methods for using the same. The compositions may be in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion and include about 0.1 wt. % to about 6 wt. % of sodium silicate; at least 3 wt. % to about 11.5 wt. % of magnesium aluminum silicate; about 1 wt. % to about 15 wt. % of one or more fatty compounds; about 0.1 to about 20 wt. % of one or more nonionic emulsifiers; about 1 to about 25 wt. % of one or more polyols; and about 50 to about 90 wt. % of water, wherein the weight percentages are based on the total weight of the composition. The weight ratio of the sodium silicate to magnesium aluminum silicate is from 0.08 to 1.0 and a total amount of sodium silicate and magnesium aluminum silicate is 3 wt. % to 13 wt. %.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a cosmetic composition includes a powder formulation, at least one additive, and at least 20% water by weight. The powder formulation includes silica silylate, methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, microcrystalline cellulose particles, and boron nitride. In some embodiments, the powder formulation includes silica silylate in an amount of about 0.05% to about 1.0%, methyl methacrylate crosspolymer in an amount of about 0.1% to about 5.0%, microcrystalline cellulose particles in an amount of about 0.1% to about 3.0%, a first portion of boron nitride in an amount of about 0.1% to about 3.0%, and a second portion of boron nitride in an amount of about 0.1% to about 5.0%, all by weight of the cosmetic composition. A method of providing a skin smoothing and radiant optical effect to skin includes applying a cosmetic composition including water, at least one additive, and a powder formulation to the skin.
