Abstract: A cosmetic skin-enhancing moisturizing peel cream composition includes at least one hydroxy acid, including alpha-hydroxy acid, present in an amount that is at least 5.5% by weight of the composition, at least one lightweight emollient selected from polar emollients and liquid alkanes, a blend of surfactants including one or all of cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, glyceryl stearate and PEG-100 stearate, at least one thickening polymer present in an amount that is at least 3% by weight, and water and a water based solvent present from about 40% to about 75% by weight. The moisturizing peel cream composition is an oil in water emulsion provided in a creamy leave on form that is free or essentially free from silicones comprising a lamellar liquid crystal structure and has a pH of about 3.5 to about 4.1, provided for leave-on application to skin according to a daily treatment regimen of at least one day to up to twenty eight (28) days or more.
