Abstract: The present invention provides a charging device comprising: a main body capable of being connected to a mobile terminal; a charging unit for charging the mobile terminal in a first connection mode; a backup unit for receiving data stored on the mobile terminal in a second connection mode, which is capable of data communications, and performing a backup function; and a control unit for changing the first connection mode to the second connection mode, on the basis of the storage status of new data stored on the mobile terminal, while connected to the mobile terminal.
