Abstract: A washing machine includes a water tank, a washing tub, a pulsator, a drive motor, a drive shaft, a dewatering shaft that rotates about the same axis of the drive shaft and spins the washing tub, a coupler that is mounted to move up and down along the dewatering shaft and transmits the torque of the drive motor to the dewatering shaft, a solenoid module that moves the coupler upward in a lengthwise direction of the dewatering shaft so as to cut off torque from the drive motor to the dewatering shaft or transmit the torque to the dewatering shaft, when a magnetic field is generated by applying an electric current to a coil, and a coupler guide that rotates itself or fixes the position of the coupler, by coming into contact with the coupler when the coupler moves upward in the lengthwise direction of the dewatering shaft.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a washing machine comprising an outer tub containing water, and an inner tub disposed in the outer tub to accommodate laundry and rotated about a horizontal axis. The washing machine includes: a motor for providing rotational force; an outer shaft that has a first hollow, and rotates the inner tub; an inner shaft disposed in the first hollow and rotated by the motor; a pulsator disposed in the inner tub and coupled with the inner shaft; a planetary gear train for transmitting rotational force of the motor; a carrier mover which has an outer circumferential surface that is spline-coupled to an inner circumferential surface of the outer shaft, and an inner circumferential surface that is screwed with an outer circumferential surface of the clutch carrier; and a stopper restricting movement of the carrier mover, thereby achieving various washing modes with a simple mechanism by rotating the inner tub and the pulsator.

Abstract: A washing machine includes a washing tub rotatably disposed to accommodate laundry, a pulsator rotatably disposed in the washing tub, a drive shaft to rotate the pulsator, a dehydration shaft to be connected to the washing tub and through which the drive shaft passes, a solenoid to form a magnetic field when a current is applied, a fixing core to surround the solenoid, and a clutch to couple and uncouple the drive shaft and the dehydration shaft. The clutch includes an armature to be lifted by a magnetic force of the solenoid, and a clutch coupler to be elevated along the dehydration shaft, perform coupling between the drive shaft and the dehydration shaft in a first position, and perform uncoupling between the drive shaft and the dehydration shaft in a second position lifted from the first position. The shape of the armature provides a more uniform lifting force.

Abstract: A washing machine includes a tub, a drum, a motor, a pulsator, a coupler configured to couple and decouple a driving shaft of the motor and a drying shaft of the drum, and a clutch supporting the coupler and moving in an axial direction. The clutch includes driven protrusions extending in a vertical direction. The washing machine further includes a clutch supporter having a plurality of support surfaces that are spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction and support lower ends of the driven protrusions located between the support surfaces when the coupler is at a connection position, and guide surfaces that are located above the support surfaces in the circumferential direction and configured to interfere with the upper ends of the driven protrusions based on the clutch moving upwards from the connection position to a disconnection position to thereby rotate the driven protrusions to positions corresponding to the support surfaces.
