Abstract: A dishwasher (100) is disclosed. The dishwasher (100) includes a washing tub (130) for defining a washing space, a rack (200) provided in the washing tub (130) so as to be withdrawn from the washing tub (130) for receiving dishes, and a plurality of spraying units (132, 133, 134) for spraying wash water to the rack (200). The rack (200) includes an outer edge rib (210) for defining a space in which dishes are loaded, a variable space loading unit (240) upwardly and downwardly movably provided at the in side of the outer edge rib (210), and a lifting unit (250) provided at the outer edge rib (210) for upwardly and downwardly moving the variable space loading unit (240) to decrease and increase the loading space of the variable space loading unit (240).

Abstract: A method for controlling a dishwasher includes: supplying washing water to a sump; rotating an impeller disposed in a washing pump by a washing motor so that the washing water flows into the washing pump from the sump;operating a heater disposed in the washing pump so as to heat the washing water existing in the washing pump and generate steam to supply to a steam nozzle; and supplying the washing water or steam in the washing pump to the steam nozzle by rotating the impeller at a second set rotational speed lower than a first set rotational speed by the washing motor. The method further includes closing a selector valve, configured to open and close a path between the washing pump and the steam nozzle, when the impeller rotates at the first set rotational speed or higher.

Abstract: A method of controlling a dishwasher includes washing an object accommodated inside a tub by spraying water and detergent onto the object, rinsing the object by spraying water onto the object, drying the object by removing moisture adhered to the object, detecting an amount of a rinsing agent, comparing the detected amount of the rinsing agent to a predetermined amount, based on the comparison, determining whether the detected amount of the rinsing agent is less than the predetermined amount, and increasing at least one of a temperature of water to be supplied in the rinsing or a drying time in the drying based on determining that the detected amount of the rinsing agent is less than the predetermined amount.

Abstract: A dishwasher and a method for controlling a dishwasher are provided. The dishwasher may include a washing tub that defines a washing space in which one or more dishes may be placed; an injection unit that injects wash water to the dishes; a sump provided underneath of the washing tub; a drive that supplies and circulates the wash water stored in the sump to the injection unit; and a drainage pump that drains the wash water from the sump. The method for controlling the dishwasher may include supplying wash water to the dishwasher; washing dishes using the wash water; rinsing the washed dishes; and drying the dishes. The method may further include exhausting by operating the drainage pump for a predetermined period of time to exhaust air from the drainage pump after the supplying of the wash water to the dishwasher.
