Abstract: A mobile terminal includes a terminal body including a display unit formed on one surface thereof, a cover coupled to the terminal body such that it can be converted into a closed state in which the display is covered and an opened state in which the display unit is exposed, a signal generating unit configured to generate a state signal according to the closed state and the opened state, and a controller configured to control the display unit such that the display unit is activated in the opened state on the basis of the state signal.
