Abstract: A network node may generate an initial precoder for a plurality of antennas, determine antenna radiated power for each of the plurality of antennas based on the initial precoder, select a subset of antennas from the plurality of antennas based on the determined antenna radiated power, generate at least one transmission precoder for at least one selected antenna of the selected subset of antennas, and perform communication with at least one user equipment device using the at least one transmission precoder and the at least one selected antenna of the selected subset of antennas.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for energy-efficient precoding with controllable power distribution. A method may include generating a digital precoder with controllable flatness based on at least one of a plurality of control parameters. The method may also include controlling flatness of a power distribution across a set of antennas, panels, or access points. The method may further include balancing, based on the control of the flatness of the power distribution, spectral efficiency and energy efficiency according to respective predefined values of spectral efficiency and energy efficiency. The balancing may include adjusting the at least one of the plurality of control parameters.
