Abstract: In some implementations, the techniques described herein relate to a method including: collecting, by a processor, Wi-Fi sense data (WSD) associated with a client device in a network, wherein the WSD includes wireless characteristics indicative of one of a movement or position of the client device; generating, by the processor, a movement signature for the client device based on the WSD; classifying, by the processor, a fine-grained type of the client device utilizing the movement signature; and storing, by the processor, the fine-grained type in a storage device.
