Abstract: A method of providing a base format for PUCCH power control is disclosed, the method comprising: defining a base format PUCCH based on established relationships with the different formats of PUCCH configured in the network, measuring an acceptable SINR for PUCCH formats x∈{0, . . . ,4} over varying channel, wherein the PUCCH format with a minimum SINR is defined as the Base format for the PUCCH calculations, calculated by multiplying PUCCH_FORMAT_X with the min of the SINR of each of the measurements of the SINR over each of the PUCCH formats.
