    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) are described. A UE may receive an indication of a set of random access occasions associated with a random access procedure. The UE may transmit a set of uplink random access channel messages over the set of random access occasions corresponding to the set of uplink random access channel messages. The UE may select a radio network temporary identifier for the UE based on a defined position within the set of random access occasions and receive a downlink random access channel message using the radio network temporary identifier based on the defined position within the set of random access occasions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a downlink message associated with a first random access channel (RACH) procedure between the network entity and the UE, the downlink message including an accessibility indicator of a first cell supported by the network entity, the accessibility indicator indicating whether the first cell is inactive at a future time period. The UE may perform one of the first RACH procedure for the first cell based at least in part on the accessibility indicator indicating that the first cell supported by the network entity is active at the future time period or a second RACH procedure for a second cell based at least in part on the accessibility indicator indicating that the first cell supported by the network entity is inactive at the future time period.

    Abstract: In a probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) system, a distribution matching (DM) component may receive a uniform bit sequence with equal probabilities, which may be converted into symbols with a desired probability distribution (e.g., Gaussian). For example, the probability distribution may use inner constellation points associated with a lower energy and/or power more frequently and outer constellation points associated with a higher energy and/or power less frequently. In general, the DM component may map binary bits to positive amplitudes with a non-uniform distribution according to a DM rate that is based at least in part on a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which may vary significantly in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel. Accordingly, some aspects described herein relate to configuring DM parameters and codeword and resource mappings in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a receiving device, such as a base station or user equipment (UE), may receive an input signal that is modulated according to a probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) modulation technique. The receiving device may determine an associated channel noise estimate and may scale the input signal and the channel noise estimate based on a probability distribution parameter that is associated with the PAS modulation. The receiving device may demap the modulation constellation of the input signal based on the scaled input signal and the scaled channel noise estimate and provide one or more bits associated with the PAS modulated constellation. The probability distribution parameter may be estimated at the receiving device, or the transmitting device may provide the probability distribution parameter to the receiving device.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for network coding for dual connectivity are disclosed herein. A base station (BS) sends encoded symbols from a first network coding layer to a first radio link control (RLC) layer and transmits, to a user equipment (UE), encoded data comprising the encoded symbols. The BS also transmits encoded data to a road side unit (RSU) for passing to the UE as a split transmission. The UE can receive encoded packets from the BS and RSU at a network coding layer via a second RLC layer. The UE recovers source packets from the encoded packets with a rateless network code at the network coding layer. The UE sequences the source packets into an ordered set of source packets at the network coding layer and sends the ordered set of source packets from the network coding layer to a packet data convergence protocol layer for processing.

    Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a UE to perform DMRS bundling in PUCCH repetitions in response to a configuration from a base station indicating or enabling the UE to perform the DMRS bundling. The UE receives a configuration from a base station indicating to bundle DMRS in repetitions of an uplink control channel transmission. The UE determines a DMRS bundling window based on the configuration. The UE transmits the bundled DMRS in the DMRS bundling window. The base station processes the bundled DMRS. Improved link quality between the UE and base station and signal gains may accordingly result from applying DMRS bundling over multiple repetitions of PUCCH transmissions.

    Abstract: The described techniques enable repeated physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble transmissions across multiple random access occasions (ROs) using a same spatial filter. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a PRACH preamble across multiple ROs, where each RO is associated with a same synchronization signal block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS). In such cases, the PRACH repetitions may be transmitted in ROs in accordance with a mapping rule: first, in increasing order of frequency resource index; second, in increasing order of a time resource index; third, in increasing order of PRACH slot indices; and fourth, in increasing order of PRACH association period indices. Additionally, or alternatively, the PRACH repetitions may be transmitted in ROs in accordance with a mapping rule: first, in increasing order of time resource index; second, in increasing order of PRACH slot indices; and third, in increasing order of PRACH association period indices.
