摘要: According to an example aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided an apparatus comprising memory configured to store a set of probabilities of transitions between modulation symbols, the set of probabilities corresponding to a lower peak-to-average power ratio than a set of equal probabilities of transitions between modulation symbols, distribution matcher circuitry configured to process an input bit sequence into a symbol sequence, wherein frequencies of transitions between symbols in the symbol sequence conform to probabilities in the set of probabilities, a channel coder configured to generate parity bits of unity and negative unity from bit information obtained from the symbol sequence, grouping circuitry configured to assign symbols of the symbol sequence into groups each comprising two or more symbols, and multiplication circuitry configured to multiply each one of the groups with a corresponding one of the parity bits.

摘要: The superposition coding modulation (SCM) of dual-carrier modulation (DCM) in a coded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexed (COFDM) signal using non-uniform quadrature amplitude modulation (NU-QAM) of its carrier waves employs labeling diversity to reduce its peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR). The number of lattice points in the square NU-QAM symbol constellations is squared to compensate against the halving of data throughput attributable to DCM. Bits of square Nu-QAM symbol constellations more likely to be in error owing to additive-white-Gaussian-noise (AWGN) in the lattice-point labels (LPLs) of each of the DCM signals correspond to bits less likely to be in error owing to AWGN in the LPLs of the other of the DCM signals. The non-uniform spacing of lattice points in the square NU-QAM symbol constellations reduces the likelihood of error in the bits least likely to be in error caused by AWGN.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and system for transmitting a sequence with low peak-to-average-power-ratio (PAPR). A communication system receives control data. A transmitter of the communication system comprises a plurality of sequences which are associated with the control data in the transmitter. The transmitter selects a sequence from the plurality of sequence. The selected sequence is rotated, pre-coded for generating pre-coded sequence. DFT is applied on the pre-coded sequence for generating frequency domain signals. The frequency domain signals are processed and corresponding waveform is transmitted to a receiver of the communication system. The receiver receives the waveform and is processed to extract the sequence from the waveform. The receiver correlates the extracted sequence with plurality of sequences stored in receiver memory to detect the control data. The generated waveform has low PAPR.

摘要: Methods, apparatus, and systems for reducing Peak Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in signal transmissions are described. In one example aspect, a wireless communication method includes determining, for an input sequence, an output sequence corresponding to an output of a convolutional modulation between a plurality of values and an intermediate sequence. The intermediate sequence is generated by inserting a set of coefficients between coefficients of the input sequence. Each non-zero coefficient of the set of coefficients is inserted between a first adjacent coefficient and a second adjacent coefficient. Each non-zero coefficient has a power that is between a first power of the first adjacent coefficient and a second power of the second adjacent coefficient and a phase value between a first phase value of the first adjacent coefficient and a second phase value of the second adjacent coefficient. The method also includes generating a waveform using the output sequence.

摘要: A method of recovering information encoded by a modulated sinusoidal waveform having first, second, third and fourth data notches at respective phase angles, where a power of the modulated sinusoidal waveform is reduced relative to a power of an unmodulated sinusoidal waveform within selected ones of the first, second, third and fourth data notches so as to encode input digital data. The method includes receiving the modulated sinusoidal waveform and generating digital values representing the modulated sinusoidal waveform. A digital representation of the unmodulated sinusoidal waveform is subtracted from the digital values in order to generate a received digital data sequence, which includes digital data notch values representative of the amplitude of the modulated sinusoidal waveform within the first, second, third and fourth data notches. The input digital data is then estimated based upon the digital data notch values.

摘要: Disclosed is a 5G or pre-5G communication system to be provided so as to support a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). According to the present disclosure, a method for transmitting a signal in a communication system supporting multi-user access comprises the steps of: transmitting, to a receiving device, information indicating a codebook formed on the basis of at least two signal constellations for sparse code multiple access (SCMA) transmissions; and transmitting signals on the basis of the codebook, wherein the at least two signal constellations are generated on the basis of energy values of symbols of a pre-given mother signal constellation and sizes of the symbols of the mother signal constellation.
