Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a deep hole drill tool of the type that includes a basic body, a cutting insert having a cutting edge, which is formed between a chip surface and a clearance surface. The chip surface includes a chamfer surface adjacent to the cutting edge and the clearance surface, the chamfer surface having a width of at least 0.2 mm defined between two boundary lines, and which, in each infinitesimal part along the cutting edge, forms an angle (γ) of at least 25° and at most 50° with a reference plane extending perpendicular to the center or rotation axis of the tool.
