Abstract:
The invention relates to a single-lip drill (10) having at least one cutting edge (160) for solid drilling, comprising a drill head (13) arranged on a shaft (12), a chip removal channel (151) extending substantially along the axis of the drill head (13) and of the shaft (12) and arranged in both the drill head (13) and the shaft (12), and a plurality of guiding elements (170, 171, 172, 173) arranged on the circumference of the drill head (13), wherein the single-lip drill is characterized in that at least one guiding element (170) is arranged at least partially in an angle range of greater than or equal to 245°, measured from the cutting edge (160) arranged at 0° in a direction opposite the rotational direction of the single-lip drill.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for reliable, easy, and low cost manufacturing of a drill head of such a kind that a cutting blade tip is brazed to a cutting blade mounting seat of a head body, with high dimensional accuracy and blade edge accuracy. In the manufacturing of a drill head 10 used with a screw shank 2 coupled in threading relation with a distal end portion of a tool shank 5 of a deep-hole cutting drill and with bounded circumferential face portions 22 and 23 at both sides which sandwich a male thread 21 portion adhered closely to a circumferential face of the tool shank 5, a screw shank cylindrical member 20A with a cutting stock 7 left at least on the bounded circumferential face portions 22 and 23 is welded and integrated with a rear end of a head body 1 for which cutting blade tips 30a to 30c have been brazed, thereafter cutting the cutting stock 7 of the screw shank cylindrical member 20A so as to be finished into the screw shank 2.
Abstract:
The invention provides a drill head for deep hole machining capable of raising circularity and straightness of a hole and improving precision of hole machining. In the drill head for deep hole machining constituted by fixing a cutting blade to a tip surface of a head body and fixing guide pads to a periphery of a tip of the head body, the length Lm of a margin, which is formed at a tip side of a periphery of the cutting blade in a drill rotating direction, in an axis direction is made substantially the same as the length Lp of the guide pads in the axis direction, and a top end and rear end of the margin are substantially aligned with a top end and rear end of the guide pads, respectively, in a circumference direction.
Abstract:
A drill for chip removing machining includes a front cutting end, a rear securing portion, and a shank extending therebetween. The cutting end includes at least one cutting edge. The drill has at least one internal chip channel and at least one internal flush channel formed in a longitudinal pillar portion of the drill. All portions of the drill are formed of the same material, such as cemented carbide, wherein the chip channel has a surface roughness no greater than 0.5 μm.
Abstract:
A boring tool assembly is provided and has a cutting tool mounted on one end thereof and permits the boring of a straight hole through a member. The boring tool assembly includes a boring bar having integral guide members disposed thereon that follows behind the cutting tool and maintains contact with the machined surface just cut in order to keep the cutting tool in proper alignment. To permit the continued use of the boring bar after the outer diameter of the cutting tool has been reduced due to wear, each of the integral guide members are resiliently mounted on the boring bar. This permits the guide members to collapses inwardly to maintain a perfect fit with the pilot pore. This collapse inwardly of the guide members is important to maintain bearing contact of the guide members with the pilot bore if the hole being cut by the cutting tool reduces in size due to wear or if the cutting tool has been re-sharpened or replaced with a different cutting tool. A resilient member is bonded in respective slots between the bottom of the associated slot and the guide member to provide the resilient mounting of the hardened guide members to the boring bar.
Abstract:
A deep-drilling tool, embodied by a tube provided with an internal passage and on the end of which a drill head is attached, the tube being divided into two tube sections, the rear one of which in the drilling direction has a diameter larger than that of the drill head. The entire drilling tool can accordingly be removed together with the drill head through a bearing or lubricating-oil supply device for replacement without disassembling the tool.
Abstract:
The drill tool of the present invention comprises a profiled tubular drill shank with a drill head, which consists of the free part of the drill shank with guide strips and cutting element fastened to it, characterized in that the cutting element (3) is fixed in a position pressed or forged into the drill shank (1).
