Abstract: The present invention provides an electronic device for providing a user interface according to an electronic device usage environment and a method therefor. An electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: a touch screen; a sensor formed on an at least partial area of the touch screen; and a processor, wherein the processor may display a user interface corresponding to a content on the touch screen to allow the user interface to be controlled through the touch screen and, when at least a part of the touch screen is identified, through the touch screen, as being positioned under water, may display the user interface through the at least a partial area of the touch screen to allow the user interface to be controlled through the sensor. In addition, other embodiments are possible.
