An electronic device and a method that may provide security using complex biometric information are provided. The electronic device includes a sensor module configured to sense two or more pieces of biometric information and a controller configured to execute a command corresponding to biometric combination information when the biometric combination information corresponding to the two or more pieces of biometric information sensed through the sensor module exist. As described above, through use of the complex biometric information combined of two or more pieces of biometric information, more strengthened security may be provided to various objects in the electronic device.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, an electronic device may comprise a first sensor configured to obtain first biometric information of a first authentication level from a user, a second sensor configured to obtain the first biometric information and/or second biometric information of a second authentication level higher than the first authentication level from the user, a memory configured to store at least one piece of biometric information authenticated in relation with the user, and a processor configured to compare the at least one piece of biometric information with the first biometric information obtained through the first sensor while the electronic device operates in a locked state, to activate a timer to stop input to the first sensor for a designated time when authentication based on the first biometric information fails a designated number of times based on the comparison of the first biometric information, to obtain the second biometric information through the second sensor while the timer is active, and to deactivate the timer when the second biometric information is authenticated based on the at least one piece of biometric information.

An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention comprises: a housing; a transparent member which forms at least a part of an outer surface of the electronic device and is arranged in at least a part of the housing; a display (160) of which at least a part is accommodated in the housing and which is arranged in at least a partial area of the transparent member; a fingerprint sensor formed in at least a partial area of the display; and a processor connected with the display and the fingerprint sensor, wherein the processor can be configured to confirm status information related to contamination of at least a partial area, of the transparent member, corresponding to the fingerprint sensor, by using the fingerprint sensor, to acquire bio-information through at least a partial area, of the transparent member, corresponding to the fingerprint sensor, by using the fingerprint sensor, and to recognize the bio-information on the basis of the status information.

The present invention provides an electronic device for providing a user interface according to an electronic device usage environment and a method therefor. An electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: a touch screen; a sensor formed on an at least partial area of the touch screen; and a processor, wherein the processor may display a user interface corresponding to a content on the touch screen to allow the user interface to be controlled through the touch screen and, when at least a part of the touch screen is identified, through the touch screen, as being positioned under water, may display the user interface through the at least a partial area of the touch screen to allow the user interface to be controlled through the sensor. In addition, other embodiments are possible.
