Abstract: An electronic device and method are disclosed. The electronic device includes a communication circuit, a touchscreen display, and a processor. The processor implements the method, including: receiving a request to share at least one object via the touchscreen display, identify at least one external electronic device proximate to the electronic device in response to receiving the request, displaying, via the touchscreen display, at least one indicator representing the identified at least one external electronic device, wherein when a plurality of external electronic devices are identified, a plurality of representative indicators are displayed according to a predetermined priority, detecting a selection of the at least one indicator via the touchscreen display, and in response to detecting the selection of the at least one indicator, transmitting the at least one data object to the identified at least one external electronic device via the communication circuit.
