Abstract:
A head-mounted display apparatus and method of the control are provided. The apparatus includes a display unit, a signal processing unit processing an image signal received from an outside to display a first image on the display unit, a shutter glass performing a shutter operation to allow selective transmission of external light, a communication unit communicating with an external display apparatus, and a controller controlling the head-mounted display apparatus to operate in a selective one of a first mode, in which the head-mounted display apparatus operates corresponding to a second image displayed on the external display apparatus, and a second mode, in which the head-mounted display apparatus displays the image signal processed by the signal processing unit on the display unit as the first image, based on a preset event.

A display apparatus having a sensor and camera and a control method thereof are provided. Exemplary embodiments relate to a display apparatus and a control method thereof which determines through a sensor, such as a pyroelectric infrared ray (PIR) sensor, and a camera, whether a user intends to use the display apparatus, and drives the display apparatus based on the users intentions in order to reduce booting time.
