    Abstract: An electronic device including a display, a gyro-sensor, an acceleration sensor, a communication module, memory storing one or more computer programs, and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the display and the memory is provided. The one or more computer programs include computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors individually or collectively, cause the electronic device to identify whether an automatic screen rotation function is activated, request an external electronic device to provide direction data of the external electronic device related to a degree of rotation of the external electronic device with regard to a designated axis through the communication module, thereby acquiring the direction data, identify a direction of the electronic device related to the degree of rotation of the electronic device with regard to a designated axis, based on values measured by the gyro sensor and the acceleration sensor, determine a user's posture, based on direction data of the electronic device and direction data of the external electronic device, and determine a screen direction mode to be displayed on the display of the electronic device, based on the user's posture.
