Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing including a first surface facing a first direction and a second surface facing a second direction opposite to the first direction; a transparent substrate forming at least a portion of the first surface; a display disposed between the transparent substrate and the second surface of the housing and including a third surface facing the first direction and a fourth surface facing the second direction; at least one sensor disposed between a portion of the second surface of the display and a portion of the second surface of the housing; an electrical structure disposed between the sensor and a portion of the second surface of the housing; and a control circuit electrically connected to the electrical structure, wherein the control circuit detects an electrical signal occurring by a pressure from the second direction to a portion of the transparent substrate using the electrical structure.

The memory stores instructions and the processor is configured to execute the instructions to enable the display during 1st time periods, and disable at least a part of the display during at least a part of 2nd time periods, and enable the at least one sensor.

Abstract: An electronic device according to various examples can comprise: a window; a polarizing plate disposed at a lower part of the window and including a first region, which has a first characteristic with respect to light, and a second region, which has a second characteristic with respect to the light; a display disposed at a lower part of the polarizing plate; and at least one sensor disposed at a lower part of the display and disposed at a location corresponding to the second region. A method for operating the electronic device, according to various examples, can comprise the steps of: determining an activated state of at least one sensor; aligning, in a first direction, at least one portion of a liquid crystal formed on a window when the at least one sensor is activated; and aligning the at least one portion of the liquid crystal in a second direction when the at least one sensor is inactivated.
