Abstract: The disclosure relates to a fifth generation (5G) or sixth generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a first node in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes transmitting a first message to a second node, the first message indicating a migration request to migrate a third node, which is connected to the first node, to the second node, receiving a second message in response to the first message from the second node, the second message indicating a response to the migration request, and determining whether the third node can migrate to the second node based on the received second message.
