A multilayer silver halide color photographic element comprises a support having coated thereon a silver antihalation layer, an interlayer, at least two red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, at least two green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers a yellow filter layer, and at least two blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, wherein the interlayer provided between the silver antihalation layer and the red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer closest to the support contains a bleach accelerator releasing compound, and the silver antihalation layer contains a water-soluble organic thiol. The invention provides reduction in residual silver levels and backside turbidity after processing, without deleteriously affecting sensitometric properties of the photographic element.

A photographic assemblage comprising a silver halide photographic light-sensitive element comprising at least one sulfur and gold sensitized silver halide emulsion layer, said element comprising chlorinated s-triazine hardeners and photographically useful chemical compounds containing cyano groups, and a closed vessel in which the element is closed and stored at a constant relative humidity, is protected against HCN gas, which may evolve from photographic addenda included in the light-sensitive element to cause fog in the silver halide emulsion layers, by the addition of a palladium compound, in a silver halide emulsion layer and/or an adjacent layer thereto, as scavenger for HCN gas released from the element.

Adjacency effects of a color photographic material may be increased by dividing a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer into three emulsion layers sensitive to the same spectral region of the visible light, the uppermost silver halide emulsion layer of which has the highest sensitivity and the lowermost silver halide emulsion layer has the lowest sensitivity, wherein the maximum color density of the uppermost silver halide emulsion layer, after color development, is lower than 0.60 and the maximum color density of both the intermediate and lowermost silver halide emulsion layers, after color development, are each higher than 0.60.
