Abstract:
An image processing apparatus is provided which includes a reading unit configured to read image data of a double-page original having a binding part, an output unit configured to generate output based on the image data, and a processing unit. The processing unit is configured to identify and remove shadow data corresponding to a portion of a shadow area in the image data, determine whether two-dimensional code data is included in the image data, and control the removal of the shadow data in the image data when the two-dimensional code data is included in the image data.
Abstract:
An image processor reads an image from an original, divides the image into a plurality of blocks, and performs a determination process on each block. Through the determination process, a block is classified as a first color block or second color block. The image processor classifies the original as a color image when a number of first color blocks reach a prescribed number before the determination processes for all of the plurality of blocks have been completed. The image processor classifies the original as the color image when a number of first color blocks determined through the determination processes for all of the plurality of blocks is fewer than the prescribed number and a color ratio is greater than a prescribed ratio. The color ratio is the sum of the number of the first color blocks and the number of the second color blocks to the plurality of blocks.
Abstract:
A sheet conveying device includes: a conveyer configured to convey a sheet; a first introducing part into which a sheet is introduced toward the conveyer; a second introducing part into which a sheet is introduced toward the conveyer, wherein the second introducing part is different from the first introducing part; a cover configured to be displaced between an open state, in which the second introducing part is opened, and a closed state, in which the second introducing part is covered, in a state where the first introducing part is opened; a cover sensor that detects the open-and-closed state of the cover; and a controller, wherein when the cover sensor detects the closed state of the cover, the controller performs a driving process of driving the conveyer.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes a conveying unit, reading unit, detecting unit, and control unit. The conveying unit conveys two sheets of the original one by one. The reading unit reads a sheet passing past a reading position. The detecting unit detects a sheet passing past a detection position upstream of the reading position in a conveying direction. The control unit controls the reading unit to start a reading process when a leading edge of sheet reaching a position upstream of the reading position by a first distance, controls the reading unit to stop the reading process when a trailing edge of sheet reaching a position downstream of the reading position by a second distance, determines an interspace between the trailing edge of sheet and a leading edge of a subsequently-conveyed sheet, and updates the first distance and the second distance based on the interspace.
Abstract:
In an image scanning device, the receiving unit receives a light reflected on a document putted on the surface of the board. The presuming unit presumes a dimension of a horizontal edge of the document based on the reflected light. The determining unit determines, based on the presumed dimension, whether or not the document has one of the plurality of standard sizes. The assuming unit assumes that the document has a virtual size defined by a virtual horizontal edge and a virtual longitudinal edge if the determining unit determines that the document has neither the plurality of standard sizes. The virtual horizontal dimension of the virtual horizontal edge is equal to or larger than the presumed dimension. The scanning unit scans the document over a range corresponding to the virtual size to generate image data.
