WHEREIN X represents the bivalent grouping -CH2-NH-CH2-, m represents an integer of 2 to 4, and Y represents a radical of the benzene, naphthalene, heterocyclic or azo series, at least one of which is substituted by at least one sulphonic or carboxylic acid group, and salts thereof with an amine or ammonium compound, and nitrosated, oxidised and metalliferous derivatives thereof; the dyes, derivatives and salts are useful for the color-finishing of leathers, for example for the aniline finishing of skins, whether or not previously dyed, and for the finishing of leathers with a buffed or artificial hair side, as well as for the spray-gun dyeing of full-grain leathers on which they give very vivid transparent shades which are very fast, especially to light and wet rubbing.
IN WHICH Pc represents the copper phthalocyanine residue, X represents an -OH or -NH-alkyl-OH group, Y represents a methyl or carboxyl group, the benezene ring Z may be substituted by at least one halogen atom or alkyl or sulpho group, m represents an integer from 1 to 4, and n represents an integer from 0 to 3, the sum m+n being equal to 4, and the possible substitutents of the ring Z may be the same or different when m is equal to or greater than 2. These dyestuffs are suitable for the dyeing of animal fibers, for example, leather in bright shades ranging from green to blue and the colorations are very uniform and remarkably fast to light, washing and solvents.
IN WHICH X represents a sulphonyl or isopropylidene group and R and R'' are the same or different and each represents a residue of a diazotisable aromatic primary amine which may carry in the ortho position to the amino group a group capable of taking part in the formation of a metalliferous complex, and metalliferous complexes thereof. These dyestuffs are useful for the colouration of leather and may be prepared by coupling a compound of the formula:
WITH A DIAZO DERIVATIVE OF AN AMINE OF FORMULA R-NH2 or R''-NH2 or the diazo derivatives of such amines, at the rate of two moles of diazo derivative or derivatives per mole of compound of formula (II). The dyestuffs give dyeings which possess good fastness to washing, solvents and light.
