Abstract: A system for controlling at least one cooking device includes a temperature sensing device that couples with a food item and control circuitry in communication with the temperature sensing device. The control circuitry is configured to receive temperature data corresponding to a temperature of the food item at a first time, determine a duration between the first time and a second time corresponding to the food item being at a target food temperature, determine an elapsed time for said at least one cooking device to generate a target heating temperature, compare the duration to the elapsed time, and communicate a first signal to activate said at least one cooking device based on the comparison of the duration to the elapsed time.
