Abstract: A cooking system, including a product loader for dispensing uncooked food product; a broiler/oven having an inlet end, a cooking chamber, a discharge end, a motorized conveyor system for conveying food through said broiler from said inlet end to said discharge end, and heating elements for heating and cooking food products in said cooking chamber. Disposed at the input end between product feed belts and broiler conveyor belts is a photoelectric sensor system that detects the presence of food product passing from the feed belts to the broiler conveyor belts which, when tripped, locks in the cook time for a recipe under execution and prevents inadvertent user changes that would adversely affect the cooked product quality.

Abstract: A method and system for locating food items and determining their outlines in the images captured by a food preparation system is disclosed herein. The method relies on reliable annotated data to determine locations and outlines of food items, with a higher accuracy than conventional methods, due to the additional constraints provided by food item identities and cooking progress levels of the food items. With the location and outline determination performed prior to the cooking progress level determination in a separate process, the disclosed methods and systems allow for different types of foods to be cooked simultaneously and monitored individually, and improving the functions of the cooking appliances and the convenience of the users.

Abstract: A cooking appliance includes a body defining a cooking cavity. A door is rotatably coupled to the body. An imager assembly is coupled to an interior surface of the door. The imager assembly includes an image sensor configured to obtain image data within a field of view, a first primary mirror positioned at a first angle proximate to the image sensor and within the field of view, and a second primary mirror positioned at a second angle proximate to the image sensor and within the field of view. A secondary mirror assembly includes multiple secondary mirrors coupled to the body within the cooking cavity. The secondary mirrors reflect image views within the cooking cavity to the first primary mirror and the second primary mirror which reflects the image views to the image sensor to be captured as the image data.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a food processor along with a corresponding method for performing a food preparation process by heating, chopping and/or mixing a food in a food preparation vessel. The food processor comprises a control device configured such that the control device ensures, based on one or more cooking parameters, that in a cooking mode a food is heated, chopped and/or mixed in the food preparation vessel. A sampling mode for taking a food sample is provided and the control device is configured such that at least one of the cooking parameters is modified compared to the cooking mode for a modified continuation of the food preparation process when the sampling mode is activated. A particularly reproducible cooking result can be achieved in this way despite taking a food sample.
