Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an improved breakaway apparatus for a mobile sprayer having at least one spray boom extending outwardly therefrom. The breakaway apparatus has a main plate pivotally mounted to a frame on the vehicle, and coupled by a pivotal link to the spray boom arm with a spring mounted between the main plate and the frame to urge the spray boom arm outwardly from the frame. A shock absorber is pivotally mounted to the frame and to the main plate to absorb loads placed on the spray boom arm when it is pivoted rearwardly relative to the vehicle. A generally lateral stop surface and a cushioned stop are provided on opposed portions of the frame and the main plate, and are aligned to engage when the spray boom arm is pivoted relative to the frame in a forward direction while the spray boom arm is extended for spraying. Preferably, two boom arms are provided which extend in opposite directions, with each spray boom arm having a generally independent breakaway apparatus therefor.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to improvements in internal combustion engines by the utilization of sintered silicon carbide for the fabrication of certain engine components wherein the silicon carbide starting material used to produce the sintered components is in an ultra-fine form. The engine components comprise the valve train and the power assembly. The valve train is comprised of the valve guides, valves, valve caps, rocker arms, valve spring retainer rings, push rods and tappets (lifters). The power assembly is comprised of cylinder lines, valve seats, exhaust port liners, exhaust manifold, flames plates, pistons, piston rings, piston pins and connecting rods.
Abstract:
A pre-stressed columnar rubber spring interposed between the pressure beam and pivoted draw bar tube of a no-till seed drill deflects under load in one direction only and the force causing increased spring deflection in the principle operational range increases to a desired maximum and then remains substantially constant or decreases slightly thereby relieving the machine of excess stresses caused by contact of coulters and openers with rocks and other field obstructions.
Abstract:
A robot-based gauging system is provided for determining three-dimensional measurement data of the surface of an object. The robot-based gauging system includes a robot having at least one movable member and a robot controller for controlling the movement of the movable member in relation to the surface of an object. A non-contact sensor is coupled to the movable member of the robot for capturing image data representative of the surface of the object. A position reporting device reports position data representative of the position of the non-contact sensor. A synch signal generator for generating and transmitting a synch signal is electrically connected to each of the non-contact sensor and the position reporting device, such that the non-contact sensor reports image data in response to the synch signal and the position reporting device reports position data in response to the synch signal. The robot-based gauging system further includes a vision system adapted to retrieve image data from the non-contact sensor and position data from the position reporting device, whereby the vision system synchronizes the image data with the position data in order to determine three-dimensional measurement data for the object.
Abstract:
A method for use with a computer which directly transfers incoming data into the computer memory. A functional address contained in a received message is used to index a pointer in a vector table. The indexed pointer addresses an input control block associated with the functional address. The input control block is used to control the flow of data into the computer memory. The input control block also controls access to the computer memory for subsequent messages having the same functional address.
