    Abstract: Provided is an absorbent article capable of fully utilizing absorption capacity of an absorption layer downstream in a liquid supply direction in a structure in which a plurality of absorption layers are laminated. An absorbent article-includes a first absorption layer and a second absorption layer configured to absorb liquid, and a diffusion layer that is interposed between the first absorption layer and the second absorption layer and diffuses the liquid in a direction in which a plane of the second absorption layer spreads. The first absorption layer includes an absorbent resin configured to absorb liquid. The first absorption layer includes an absorption region including the absorbent resin, and a passage region that has a lower density of the absorbent resin than a density of the absorbent resin in the absorption region. The passage region allows the liquid to pass through the diffusion layer.

    Abstract: To reduce a discrepancy between sealing areas on outward and homeward paths through which superposed parts of a continuous material are joined to each other, a method for manufacturing a wearable article includes: superposing a first and second parts of a continuous material on each other; winding the continuous material around a rotary drum and conveying the continuous material; and moving a movable part of a sealer unit outward and homeward in a cross direction crossing a conveyance direction, while the continuous material is conveyed, to form liner sealing areas and joining the first and second parts through the formed liner sealing areas. The method includes, after the superposing and before the joining, inhibiting a movement of the first and second parts relative to each other by temporary fastening such as heat sealing at a place at which the first and second parts are to be joined together.

    Abstract: Provided is a method for manufacturing absorbent articles that readily suppresses an area in which a manufacturing device is installed. The method for manufacturing absorbent articles includes a conveying step (S1), a moving step (S4), and a supplying step (S6). In the conveying step, absorbent articles aligned in multiple rows along a first direction are conveyed on a first conveying path in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. In the moving step, rows of absorbent articles that are either even-numbered or odd-numbered when counted along the first direction from the row of absorbent articles farthest upstream in the first direction are moved to a second conveying path different from the first conveying path. In the supplying step, after rows of absorbent articles of divided groups have been moved to the second conveying path, the rows of absorbent articles are conveyed in the first conveying path and the second conveying path in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the absorbent articles, and are supplied into respective folding devices corresponding to each row of absorbent articles among a plurality of devices for folding the absorbent articles.

    Abstract: A conveying method includes first and second pads conveying workpieces with speeds of the first and second pads being varied; circumferential velocities of the first pads and the second pads are accelerated by variable speed mechanisms; the first and second pads move and separate in a state in which a distance between the first pad and the second pad, whose speeds were increased, is increased; the circumferential velocities of the first pads and the second pads are decelerated by the variable speed mechanisms; and a first slider and a second slider, which were subjected to deceleration, overlap each other in a part in a circumferential direction, which causes the first pad and the second pad to approach each other, and the first pad and the second pad move and approach each other in this state in which the first pad and the second pad have approached each other.
