摘要： A rod device is provided for rolling a lock of hair during permanent wave hairstyling. The rod device comprises an elongated, rigid center core and a fine open mesh covering the center core. The center core includes a central opening extending from a first end of the core to a second end of the core such that air is permitted to pass through the center core. The mesh provides support for a lock of hair wrapped onto the mesh and core sufficient to prevent the hair from being damaged during permanent wave hairstyling. The mesh allows fluid applied to the hair to easily pass therethrough such that at least a portion of the fluid applied to the hair is evaporated as air passes through the center core.

摘要： A method and system for the application of hair treatment solution, such as permanent solutions, to the hair is disclosed according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Specifically, the present invention includes hair curlers having cylindrically shaped outside surfaces and hollow interiors. After the curler is rolled in the hair, vapor retainers may be placed around the hair rolled on the hair curler. The vapor retainer includes in its most preferred form, first and second semicircular members hinged together for defining a hair treatment solution receiving volume. Vaporized hair treatment solution may be injected into the interior of the hair curler for communication with the hair located within the vapor retainer. In its most preferred form, the curler includes a frustro-conical portion extending into the interior of the curler and having a closure formed from wedge-shaped flaps. The injector includes in its most preferred form a member for opening the flap closure of the hair curlers and further includes a source of heated, pressurized air and a member for delivering hair treatment solution into the stream of pressurized, heated air for vaporizing the hair treatment solution for introduction into the hair curler. After the hair treatment solution is allowed to set, the retainers may be removed and clips attached to the curlers for retaining the hair curlers in their rolled position in the hair. At that time, the hair may be rinsed and/or a neutralizer solution applied. Thereafter, the clips and curlers may be removed from the hair.

摘要： The permanent wave rod of the present invention is comprised of an elongate body having an oblong cross-sectional shape wherein the diameter of the circular segment at the narrower top of the rod is 0.4 to 0.8 times the diameter of the circular segment at the wider bottom of the rod. The circular segments are intersected by sides which are tangential with both of the circular segments. The centers of the circular segments are offset from one another by a distance which is equal to one-half of the diameter of the larger circular segement. The cross-sectional dimensions of the rod vary along its longitudinal extent with the center of the rod being approximately one-half of the size of its extremities. In addition, the center of the rod is axially offset from its extremities towards the larger circular segment.

In addition, the hair perm rod also includes an elastic band having a first and a second end for connecting to the end wall and end cap, respectively. The end wall includes a first plurality of notches extending in a radial direction and a center hole formed therein for receiving the first end of the elastic band. The end cap includes a second plurality of notches extending in a radial direction and a center hole formed therein for receiving the second end of the elastic band. The elastic band is received within one of the first plurality of notches and is also received within one of the second plurality of notches to hold the hair securely in place.
