摘要: A drive arrangement, for example for a writing head, comprising a piezoelectrically actuated lever arrangement (1d) for moving a writing tip (21) in the direction of a recording medium when writing on the recording medium. This drive arrangement is characterized in that a piezoelectric actuator (4) is used, which is separate from the lever arrangement (1d) and in that the lever arrangement (1d) exerts a compressive force on the piezoelectric actuator (4), which is supported against a rigid abutment (section 1b). This drive arrangement can be used for a series of other applications as a positioning drive. Inverse arrangements are also described.

摘要: An arranging structure of print wire driving units in print head utilized in a shuttle printer is disclosed. In such structure, a plurality of head units U each of which comprises the row R1 and the row R2 of the print wire driving units 10a, 10b, are arranged in the print head H1. The rows 10a, 10b are positioned at both sides (left and right sides) in the print head H1 with reference to a line passing through the wire guide plate 22. Here, the first driving unit 10a has a construction in which the arm 12a is supported by the plate springs S in a direction vertical to a longitudinal direction of the frame F in the unit 10a and the print wire 14a is fixed to the top portion of the arm 12a so that it is extended to the longitudinal direction of the frame F in the unit 10a. And the second print wire driving unit 10 b has s construction in which the arm 12b is supported by the plate springs S in the same direction as the longitudinal direction of the frame F in the unit 10b and the print wire 14b is fixed to the top portion of the arm 12b so that it is extended to a direction vertical to the longitudinal direction of the frame F in the unit 10b. In both rows R1, R2, the first driving units 10a and the second driving units 10b are alternately arranged each other with right angle, thus, the arms 12a, 12b are arranged with parallel relationship therebetween and the print wires 14a, 14b are arrayed in a straight line on the wire guide plate 22.

摘要: A printing head including a plurality of impact printing wires constituting a dot matrix and a plurality of actuators for respectively and selectively driving the printing wires. Each actuator is constituted of a movable member to which the printing wire corresponding thereto is connected, a base member, a piezoelectric device mounted on the base member, and first and second leaf springs. The first leaf spring is connected between the movable member and the piezoelectric device, and the second leaf spring is connected between the movable member and the base member in parallel relationship to the first leaf spring. Each of the first and second leaf springs has a shape such that it is narrowest at the central portion thereof and is gradually widened toward the opposite ends thereof. Owing to this shape, a stress generating at the opposite ends of each leaf spring can be reduced to thereby prevent breakage of each leaf spring.

摘要: Piezoelectric elements that can resonate at a certain frequency with a coil are extended and contracted as they are repeatedly charged and discharged. The extending and contracting movements of the piezoelectric elements are amplified and transmitted to move the print wires toward and away from the platen. The waveform of a voltage generated across the piezoelectric element is detected by a monitoring device. Then, the detected voltage waveform is compared with the waveform of a voltage that is produced when the print gap is proper, and lets the user to know the magnitude of the print gap between the distal ends of print wires and a platen at any time during printing operation.

摘要: A dot printing apparatus in which the piezoelectric print head having the piezoelectric element connected to the printing wire is utilized and the secondary bounce of the printing wire is effectively controlled according to one of three dot printing modes (the normal continuous dot printing mode, the last dot printing mode in the continuous dot printing mode and the single dot printing mode), is disclosed. The dot is judged every time the dot printing is performed. And if judged the normal dot printing mode, the discharging of the piezoelectric element is conducted relatively fast after the dot printing in the present printing pitch is performed to charge the piezoelectric element, since the dot printing data exists in one or more printing pitches both before and after the present printing pitch, thus, the dot printing in printing pitch next to the present printing pitch is performed. And if judged the last dot printing mode, the electric energy stored in the piezoelectric element is partially removed at the first timing according to the discharging pulse with relatively narrow width, thereafter, the remained electric energy is completely removed. And further, if judged the single dot printing mode, the electric energy stored in the piezoelectric element is partially removed at the second timing later than the first timing according to the discharging pulse with the width wider than that in the last dot printing mode, thereafter, the remained electric energy is completely removed.

摘要: A displacement magnifying mechanism includes a base member and an electro actuator having a free ene and a base end connected to the base member, and having an actuator axis defined as passing through the free end and the base ene. The electro actuator has a rest state and an actuated state of extending and contracting along the actuator axis. The mechanism further includes an arm having first and second ends. A first resilient member has a first end connected to the free end of the electro actuator, and a second end connected to the second end of the arm. A second resilient member has a first end connected to the base member, and has a second end connected to the second end of the arm. The second resilient member is substantially parallel and substantially overlaps the first resilient member, and a distance between the first resilient member and second resilient member is less than a width of the electro actuator at a direction perpendicular to the actuator axis. The above mechanism allows the interval between the first and second resilient members to be narrowed without increasing the width, thus also improving the mounting efficiency and displacement magnifying efficiency.

摘要: An apparatus for driving a printing head of a wire-dot printer, the head including a plurality of electroexpansive elements for driving respective printing wires cooperatively constituting a wire-dot matrix and in accordance with print pattern data designating the existence, or non-existence, of a dot to be printed by the respective, plural dot-impact printing wires in each of a succession of print cycles. Each electroexpansive element, selectively, is expanded and shrunk by an electrical charge/discharge, thereby to move the respective printing wire and perform a dot printing operation. The time intervals T1 and T2 respectively for the charge and discharge in each of a succession of printing cycles are: in the case of continuous dots, T1=A, T2=B' for the first dot, T1=A', T2=B' for successive dots intermediate the first and the last dots, and T1=A', T2=B for the last dot of the continuous dots, and in the case of a single dot, T1=A, T2=B, wherein A>A', and B>B'.

摘要: Front ends of the frames of a plurality of print units can be supported by a support member. At the rear end of each frame a fitting member having screw holes is attached. A fixing member is provided on the back side of the fitting members. Screws are inserted into screw holes in the fitting members through holes in the fixing member, so that each fitting member is detachable fixed onto the fixing member. Therefore, as occasion demands, one print unit, including the fitting member, can be detached from the unit and exchanged.

摘要: A printing head includes a plurality of printing members constituting a dot matrix, and a plurality of actuators for driving the printing members, respectively. Each of the actuators comprises a resiliently movable member having one end to which the printing member is connected and the other end fixedly secured to a head base. An electro-distortion device can be used for exerting a displacement of the movable member, to enlarge the displacement at the one end and drive a printing member. The movable member is shaped substantially, between an actuating position and a fixing point, as one or more triangles, in a face of the flat material, in such a manner that the base and peak of the triangles are located substantially at the fixing and actuating positions, respectively.
