摘要: Apparatus for deploying equipment in a fluid container or fluid conduit comprises a fluid housing having an outlet aperture, the fluid housing being adapted to be secured to the container or conduit such that the outlet aperture is in fluid communication with an aperture in the container or conduit. The apparatus further includes a piston in the fluid housing dividing the fluid housing into first and second fluid chambers, the second fluid chamber being in fluid communication with the interior of the container or conduit via the outlet aperture when the fluid housing is secured in fluid communication with the container or conduit. The piston is movable within the fluid housing toward the outlet aperture in response to increases of fluid pressure in the first fluid chamber. The apparatus further includes a guide means for guiding deployment of the equipment into the container or conduit. The guide means is secured to the piston, whereby movement of the piston within the fluid housing can move the guide means at least partially into the container or conduit through said outlet aperture.

摘要: The invention constitutes an apparatus and method for inexpensively, testing sewer drainage pipes and other pipes for leaks especially where exterior inspection is impractical, which includes the use of an inflatable test ball, a remotely operated camera lens with lighting and viewing terminal, snaking assisting lanyards and a method of snaking and water or other test fluid, wherein segments of pipe are isolated by snaking the test ball and camera to a point in the pipe, inflating the test ball to seal a segment of the pipe, internally, and viewing the quality of the seal of the test ball with the camera lens by its being located on one side of the test ball opposite the side water is injected into the pipe segment being tested and viewing and comparing water stability on both sides of the test ball.

摘要: A probe (10) may be used to test or patch pipes where an operator (11) manually feeds the probe (10) along a pipe (12) by reason of an air tube (13) and CCTV cable (14). The operator may view via screen (16) the output from camera head (15) on the probe (10). The camera views the interior of a pipe in the direction of feed. The probe (10) has an elongate flexible body (16) so that it may deform to pass around corners in the pipe and be inflated to seal or apply patches.

摘要: An apparatus and method for sealing an underground junction between a lateral service line and a main pipeline from the inside-out. One embodiment provides a substantially rigid patching apparatus which may be positioned and installed with a robotic device within a main pipeline. The patching apparatus has a flange shaped to fit the internal diameter of the main pipeline and a tubular stem or sleeve which penetrates into the lateral service line. The patching apparatus contains an interconnection substrate such as felt, sponge or other similar material. The interconnection substrate may be impregnated with a bonding agent which sealingly interconnects the patching apparatus to the main pipeline and lateral service line. The seal provided by the inverted-tee patch effectively eliminates most water intrusion or the influx of plant roots and other matter which can seriously damage or obstruct the main pipeline. A remote control robotic arm is used in conjunction with a support cage to apply the patch to the underground junction between the main pipeline and lateral service line from within the main pipeline.

摘要: The invention relates to the control of leakage from ducts, such as fluid-carrying pipework, without necessarily requiring direct access to the leakage site itself; since leakage sites are often difficult to locate with the necessary degree of precision to permit access to reliably be made thereto, and moreover, even if a site can be located, it is not always convenient or economically possible to secure access thereto. The invention provides an apparatus and methods for duct leakage control wherein a sealing element (1) is introduced into the duct and is automatically drawn or otherwise guided to the locality of a leak; the element being caused, by reason of a pressure differential attributable to the leak, to move into and stem or seal the leak. The sealing element may comprise a plurality of individual members of differing buoyancy, each capable of being carried along at a predetermined level in the duct by the flow of fluid therein. The sealing element may carry a tagging device which can be used to assist in locating the leakage site.
