    摘要: A heat exchanger feed system and method for distributing fuel through the walls of a combustor or other heat exchanger formed by a plurality of tubes each having first and second ends and adjacent tubes being connected to form an air-tight structure. A first series of the tubes are bent out of the plane of the wall to form a cylindrical passage extending at an angle to the wall through which material can flow. Each of the tubes in the series comprises a first vertical portion extending upwardly from the first end, a first diagonal portion extending upwardly from the first vertical portion and outwardly from the wall at an angle from the vertical, a second diagonal portion extending upwardly from the first diagonal portion and inwardly towards the wall at an angle from the horizontal, and a second vertical portion extending upwardly from the second diagonal portion to the second end. The passage is formed by bending the second diagonal portion of each of the tubes in the first series outwardly from the centerline of the inlet to form the passage.

    摘要: For use in the course of forming a venturi-shaped flame-ignition throat in a venturi-shaped duct in a boiler, the jug being used for the positioning of studs for welding to circulation tubes so as to extend from the latter inwards in the direction of the duct axis, the tubes being disposed in banks at each of two diametrically opposed regions of the duct in non-contiguous relationship over the major parts of their lengths with their axes following the curvature of the duct in planes normal or substantially normal to said circulation axis, the jig comprising an internally-braced metal ring of diameter to fit with clearance within the smaller diameter end of either one of the truncated conical lengths of the duct, L-shaped support brackets secured to the external periphery of said ring at circumferentially spaced locations and providing first limbs parallel to the ring axis and outwardly projecting second limbs spaced from and parallel to radii of said ring, the first limbs being adjustable in length and the second limbs having therein elongate holes enabling positional adjustment relative thereto of locating studs welded to the circulation tubes closest to the larger diameter end of said either one truncated conical length of the duct to fix the jig in position, sections of a frusto-conical skirt also secured to the external periphery of the ring and mounting mandrelguiding tubes whereof, in use, the axes are normal to the axes of other circulaton tubes at said two opposed regions and mandrels insertable through said tubes and having tapped ends into which are adapted to be screwed studs to be welded to said other circulation tubes.

    摘要: Improved air port castings are employed in a recovery boiler, eliminating the use of a crotch plate in a membrane/tube type boiler. The casting extends over the exposed portion where the membrane begins again at an air port, providing a sacrificial member that is replaceable. An upper mounting bolt is employed, but no lower bolt is required, making replacement of the casting simpler. A damper guide is formed as an integral portion of the air port casting.

    摘要: A fluidized bed furnace and boiler for the combustion of flyash with a moisture content of 45% by weight. The flyash is produced as a by-product of a coal gasification process and transported in water to a slime dam. From the slime dam a slurry of flyash and water is initially thickened in a gravity thickener (1) (FIG. 1) and then converted to filter cake in a tubular filter press (4). The filter cake is fed through pressurized hoppers (8) and chutes to the base of the boiler (10) and is distributed across the floor through chutes in the side walls and through chutes surrounded by a tubular array of water tubes and extending into the boiler furnace chamber terminating approximately one quarter of the furnace width from the side walls. A fluidized bed with a depth of about 3 meters is formed by discharging air heated in an associated air heater through nozzles in the floor of the furnace chamber to effect combustion. The combustion gases are utilized to produce steam in the boiler and are passed through a grits separator (32) and bag filter ( 34) before discharge through a flue (36).
