摘要: A rainwater harvesting device and system that stores water for irrigation and outdoor use that provides constant pressure via gravity to a sprayer such as might be used for landscape or garden irrigation, or outdoor washing. The device and system comprise a water storage vessel that is free to move vertically, and optionally contained within a rack or other structure if necessary, and supported by one or more springs, which can be compression or tension springs or a combination thereof. When the vessel is at or near capacity, the spring assembly is largely or fully compressed/extended and supports the vessel at a minimal elevation. In such a state, the pressure head provided by the static water level is sufficient to provide a desired pressure at the sprayer. During periods of lower storage, however, such as following water draw-off and lower replenishment, the spring assembly responds to the lower load by extending vertically, thus raising the vessel and thereby providing an increase in elevation head, maintaining the same desired pressure at the sprayer, regardless of the volume contained in the vessel.

摘要: The present invention provides a viscous fuel, which includes a fuel substance held in a polymeric structure, where the viscous fuel has benefits over previous fuels, including performance enhancements and desirable physical characteristics. One embodiment of the formulation includes neat methanol, to which a thickening substance, such as that sold commercially under the trade name Carbopol®, is added to impart viscosity, as well as stabilizing and suspending properties. In addition to the thickening substance, a further substance can be added to balance the pH of the viscous fuel when needed.

One embodiment of the composition includes neat methanol, to which a thickening substance, such as that sold commercially under the trade name Carbopol®, is added to impart viscosity, as well as stabilizing and suspending properties. In addition to the thickening substance, a further substance can be added to balance the pH of the gel fuel when needed. In accordance with the invention, a fuel cell cartridge is provided that has at least one aspect that is methanol-permeable, and which may include a fuel vapor permeable layer and it may be comprised of one of a number of various alternative materials. Features within the fuel cartridge can be used to increase surface area of the gel fuel, and to maintain the gel fuel in a desired location within the cartridge.

摘要: A miniature patio heater is provided which has a total height of approximately 3 ft. and which has a shroud with a diameter less than 2 ft. The patio heater includes a base having a vertically extending chamber, which is approximately 1.5 ft. high, for receiving a small gas bottle. A hollow post extends upwardly from the upper end of the chamber. A heater assembly and shroud are supported at the upper end of the post. A gas line extends along the inside of the hollow post between the heater assembly and the chamber. A connector assembly provides a pivotal connection between the end of the gas line and a regulator connected to a gas bottle within the chamber. The chamber is provided with an access opening for inserting and removing the gas bottle. Thus, the gas bottle, with attached regulator, can be swung from a vertical upright position within the chamber outwardly through the access opening to an angular position to facilitate removal of an empty gas bottle and replacement with a full gas bottle. The fill gas bottle can then be swung from the angular position to a vertical upright position within the chamber. A removable cover can be provided over the access opening.

摘要: The rotary fluid coupling decreases the possibility of microcontaminates entering the fluid flow line and is thus especially suitable for processing equipment in manufacturing of wafers and other components for the microcomputer industry. The rotary fluid coupling interconnects a fluid conveying passageway and a spindle element to a duct in a second element such that the two elements are rotatable with respect to each other. An axial channel is provided along the length of the spindle. A planar faced plate is mounted on the spindle. A bore in the spindle plate is in axial alignment with the spindle channel, generally forming a single continuous fluid conveying passageway. A second element has a generally planar distal faced plate. A fluid conducting duct extends from an aperture on the distal face of the second plate to a fluid source with the two faces generally aligned in parallel relationship to each other creating a fluid permeable gap. A fluid flow resistant labyrinth may be provided on one or both faces. In use, fluid flowing from the fluid source through the fluid conducting duct and the aperture in the second element crosses the fluid permeable gap to enter the fluid conveying passageway in the spindle elements. Synthetic resin coating is further provided within the fluid conveying passageway of the spindle element serving to prevent microcontaminates from being generated by corrosion of the metallic surface by the action of the fluid flowing therethrough.
