Abstract: A wiping paper dispenser for hand towels and toilet paper includes a housing having a gantry which tilts relative to the housing and receives an idle roller in contact with a contained reel of paper material for ensuring a dual function of pressing and braking the reel and preventing curling. The gantry is linked to a hinged flap at the front base of the housing countering a spring, the flap being adjustable in relation to a rotatable drum. The drum and the idle roller are rotatably driven in response to the user's pull on an extending paper strip from the reel of material.

Abstract: An automatic web transfer mechanism in a flexible sheet material dispenser includes a web-sensing member operatively coupled with a transfer arm. The member senses the absence of web from a stub roll at a pre-feed portion between the stub roll and a feed roll nip to activate a transfer of feed to the web of a reserve roll. The transfer is initiated by a transfer arm that advances the reserve web into the proximity of the feed roller nip. In a second aspect, a movable front shield opens automatically upon opening of the outer dispenser cover, presenting an opening for pre-transfer placement and retention of a leading edge of web material from the reserve roll. Upon closure of the dispenser cover, the front shield returns to a closed position placing the transfer arm in a pre-transfer set position.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing paper materials from a supply roll mounted within a housing. The housing has lateral flanges for permitting rapid installation of a drum, its associated cutoff device, and a supply roll tensioning device. The drum is a modular unit that includes a main body with an internal hollow shaft for accommodating an assembly at either end. Gripping collars are mounted on the drum and on the end elements which function to ensure retention and dispensing of paper from the supply roll. The length of the drum can be varied, depending upon the type of material being dispensed.

Abstract: A dispensing machine includes a housing, a cover, a drum, a cutting blade built into the drum, and a cam and a start and return spring for starting and returning the drum. Lateral end shields of the housing support the reel of material. A pressing roller pushes against the strip of material at a specific point and a second pressure area where the strip of material is cut at the level of the drum. The pressure roller is articulated and pivoted by two swivelling levers so that it presses against the reel of material, thereby defining a distance between the tensioning areas defined by reel/pressure roller contact and drum/cutting blade ejection of about 25 to 50 cm. The two levers are not joined together and pivot independently so that the pressure roller swivels with variations of each of said levers to match the profile of the reel of material.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing and cutting measured amounts from a roll of web material includes a roll carrier disposed within a housing. A rotatable drum is disposed proximate to the roll carrier, with the roll carrier being biased towards the drum so that the web material carried by the roll carrier is frictionally engaged against the drum. The drum thus rotates upon a free end of the web material being pulled from the housing. The cutting mechanism is movably mounted within the housing external of the rotatable drum. The cutting mechanism is engaged by the drum along a portion of the rotational arc of the drum and is moved by the drum to a cutting position wherein a blade carried by the cutting mechanism moves across the conveying path of the web material and cuts the web material.
