摘要： A fixture attaches a hollow square cross section fence post to a simple vertical pipe. The fixture is constructed as interconnected inner and outer concentric cylinders with the inner cylinder extending beyond one end of the outer cylinder, and holes are formed through the extending portion of the inner cylinder through which fasteners can be attached to a pipe to anchor the fixture. To furnish the required strength, at least four radial fins are used to interconnect the inner and outer cylinders, and plateaus are used around the fastener holes to furnish added thickness to the inner cylinder at those locations.

摘要： A double-tape pedestrian traffic control device including a hollow, one piece post having an open upper end, and at least one slot in the post about midway between its ends. A first cassette is mounted on the upper end of the post and a second cassette is located within the post at the level of the slot. Each cassette contains a tape wound on a spool, the spool being spring-biased to rotate in a direction which winds the tape on to the spool. The tape of each cassette is extendable from that cassette in a direction generally perpendicular to the vertical axis of the post, the tape of the second cassette extending through the slot in the post. The diameter of the second cassette, along its entire axial length, is smaller than the internal diameter of the post, so that the second cassette can be inserted into the open upper end of the post and moved to its location between the ends of the post. The second cassette is furnished with means for maintaining tension in the retractor spring prior to and during insertion of the second cassette into the post, the tension-maintaining means being positioned substantially within the confines of the outer dimension of the second cassette, so as not to interfere with insertion of the second cassette into the post. After the free end of the tape of the second cassette is manipulated outwardly through the slot in the post, a pull is attached to the free end of the tape, the pull being too large to fit through the slot and hence preventing full retraction of the tape into the cassette.

摘要： A picket privacy fence that is composed of a plurality of elongated interlocking pickets that form a continuous fencing surface. Top and bottom rails are run horizontally between upright support posts that are set in the ground at regularly spaced intervals. The elongated pickets are positioned vertically between the top and bottom rails. Each picket has a flange on both vertical edges so that adjacent pickets are interlocked using a lap joint thereby preventing any gaps between the elongated pickets. The regularly spaced upright support posts are located within a vertical shaft that passes through the elongated vertical pickets, thereby allowing the elongated interlocking vertical pickets to form a continuous fencing surface.

摘要： A method of deterring to waterfowl trespass onto a real estate property, particularly a property bordering onto a body of water inhabited by geese, and an effective barrier for doing so, is disclosed. The barrier consists in its simplest form as a pair of lines suspended above a property surface, one line at 3 to 10 inches high, a second line at 8 to 30 inches high, with a separation between lines of at least 5 inches. The lines are suspended by means of an array of posts. Preferably, a dispenser for feeding a line from a spool and also for retracting the line is mounted on one of the posts. The barrier is optimally removable, including means for retracting the line and for conveniently removing the posts from receptacles in the property surface. Thus, a property owner or user is allowed full recreational access to the property without the problem of goose droppings on the protected property.

The vertical member may comprise a conventional chain link fence and the angled member is preferably made of a sheet material. The surface of the angled member which is presented to an animal attempting to climb over the fence is preferably smooth and free of protrusions which could assist the animal in climbing the fence. Preferably, the height of the angled member is sufficient to prevent an animal such as an adult raccoon from reaching over its upper edge.

The wheel engagement wall includes an outer surface and an inner surface, one of which includes reliefs for aiding the wall to conform to and stop the rolling action of a wheel of a wheeled device when impacted thereby. The energy stored in the engagement wall when impacted by the wheel of the wheeled device returns the engagement wall to its original shape thereby pushing the wheel of the wheeled device away from the elongated member. A bumper system may be fabricated by connecting two or more of the bumpers together in a desired configuration using adjustable, straight, or bent connectors.
