摘要： When stunning animals e.g. by CO2-stunning aversive reactions may be seen among the animals as a reaction to the high concentration of CO2. To avoid the aversive reactions animals can be pre-stunned before being final-stunned and perhaps killed or slaughtered when stunned. Pre-stunning of animals may be performed with a combination of gas for pre-stunning comprising at least air and/or O2 together with CO2 e.g. in a concentration below 40%, at least air and/or O2 together with N2O, or at least air and/or O2 together with N2O and CO2, where CO2 may bi in a concentration below 40%. For larger animals such as pigs pre-stunning is performed for less than 60 seconds. A stunning system may comprise means for pre-stunning of animals before performing a final-stunning and may include gas storage for re-use of the pre-stunning gas.

摘要： A portable game hoist supports game in the field without requiring attachment to a tree, vehicle or other separate structure. The hoist includes free-standing legs in pairs at opposite ends of a crossbeam. The crossbeam has a pulley mounted thereto, preferably upon a bracket with a hook on the bracket and below the pulley. A hanger is provided to which a game animal is attached. A cable is routed over the pulley and also over an end pulley adjacent one of the ends of the crossbeam. The cable is then routed down to a winch so that when the hanger is coupled to the cable, the hanger and game can be elevated. Once fully elevated, the hanger can be shifted to the hook adjacent the pulley and the cable removed for reuse on a second game animal, routing of the cable over a separate pulley suspended below the crossbeam.

摘要： A one-piece support device for cleaning, skinning or filleting fish or game provides a secure support for fish or game. The support includes a sturdy base which attaches rigidly to a generally vertical structure. Vertical prongs extend upward from the base to engage the fish or small game. The device may also include a stabilizing element which extends from the lower portion of the base. The lower portion of the base may include a barbed prong for smaller fish or game. The fish or game is hung from the vertical prongs and is held substantially stationary in a preferred orientation, without twisting, by the stabilizing element and one or more prongs. The fish or game may safely be cleaned, skinned or filleted, using both hands, without worry of the fish or game moving.

摘要： A system and method for transferring live objects, such as chickens, to a shackle line are presented. The system and method include introducing a plurality of live objects to a singulator. The singulator isolates the individual live objects and places them in a pallet on a conveyor. The system may detect and remove cadavers from amongst the live objects. The conveyor leads the live objects to a grasper. The grasper positions the legs of the live objects so that a shackler can secure the legs of the live objects with a shackle. The live objects and the shackle are then inverted and passed on to a shackle line. The shackle line may be a kill line buffer or a kill line.

摘要： A device, easily assembled and disassembled for portability, for hoisting and skinning large game in the wilderness. A pair of upright members extend upward from base members, and a cross beam joins upper ends of the upright members to form a rigid frame. A winch mounted on an upright member includes a barrel sufficiently wide to accommodate two cables in side-by side relation and a handle for rotating the barrel. A first cable extends from the barrel of the winch through a dual-sheaved pulley suspended from the cross beam proximal to the winch and thence through a second pulley suspended from the cross beam distal to the winch. A second cable extends from the barrel of the winch through the dual-sheaved pulley. With the hind legs of a carcass attached to the cables, rotating the handle hoists the carcass and tensions apart the hind legs to facilitate skinning. In an alternative embodiment, the frame comprises three upright members pivotally attached to a cross beam and capable of being positioned on a ground surface in tripod configuration. In both embodiments, provision is made for varying the length of at least one upright member to adjust the hoist to sloping or uneven ground.
