摘要: An electrical device is disclosed for use in a wall box having a series of buttons that can either be rocker buttons or push buttons. These buttons can be supported by springboards formed integral with a support board. The springboards are for biasing the series of buttons. Much of the device is housed within a housing formed at a first end by a body and a second end by a strap coupled to the housing. The strap extends beyond the body, wherein this strap can be used to dissipate heat from the device. Inside of the housing can be at least one circuit board which has switches, which can be used to receive instructions from a plurality of buttons. In one embodiment, a plurality of light pipes are adapted so that they are housed at least partially inside of these buttons. At least one portion of the light pipe can be formed as a shaft and adapted to extend out from this housing and down to a light emitter disposed on the circuit board. In at least one embodiment, this light pipe can also include at least one actuator which is used to contact an associated springboard when a button is acted on. This movement causes the springboard to contact an actuator on a TAC switch which then results in an associated set of instructions being sent to the circuit board.

摘要: A modular electronic device comprising a housing and at least one phase conductor, and at least one neutral conductor coupled to the housing. The housing has at least one receptacle for receiving a modular component when this modular component is inserted therein. The housing has at least one module release button coupled to the housing wherein when said module release button is pressed, the modular component is released from the housing. In at least one embodiment, the modular component is an electrical component, wherein the electrical component is electrically coupled to the at least one phase conductor and the at least one neutral conductor when the module is inserted into the housing. In at least one embodiment, the modular component has a power blade which connects the modular electrical component to the conductors of the housing. In at least one of these embodiments, the power blade is formed as a key which has at least one prong which uniquely identifies said modular component. In this way, the housing is adapted to have a complementary structure which accepts only modular components having this form of power blade.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method for discovering, identifying, and cataloguing devices on a network, particularly, devices included in a home automation or building control network. In embodiments, a node information table is populated with generic entries representing potentially-discoverable devices on the network. The table is traverse iteratively and potential devices are queried in turn to determine the type and capabilities of each potential device in the network. Device responses stored in the node information table, replacing generic entries with updated entries representative of actual network devices. Additionally, device responses may be used as a basis for subsequent queries to network devices. After device queries are completed, any remaining generic node information table entries are removed from the table, thereby only entries corresponding to positively-identified network devices remain in the table.

摘要: A light control system having a multi-button low voltage adaptable switch compatible with a two input switch control system where each input can have any one of three values yielding a number of states thus mimicking the functionality of a two button light control switch system. Features such as dimming and daylight harvesting are also disclosed herein. For implementation of a daylight harvesting feature, an ambient light sensor is connected to a detection circuit for sensing and detection of the ambient light level. A number of user-controlled actuators are connected to a decoder that translates a command into a command compatible with the two-input switch.

摘要: The present invention teaches a control system wherein fiber optics controls the functioning of one or more types of wiring devices, such as a wall receptacle. With the use of the present invention, a relatively safer system is provided for use in wet, hospital, explosive and other environments, and which is capable of surface mounting. Switch and load supply assemblies are interconnected by fiber optic means for transmitting reflected signals from a movable mirror to a photocell-influenced relay circuit.
