    摘要: Proteins, nucleic acids encoding the proteins, compositions comprising the proteins, and methods are provided. The proteins have the ability to be self-targeted to ICAM-1 and, if desired, enzymatically-released at acidic pH. The ICAM-1-targeting peptides are provided as single copies or multiples repeats, and can be separated by linkers from the enzyme segment, from which the ICAM-1 targeting peptides can be released, if desired, at acidic pH. These fusion proteins enhance the activity of the enzyme segment within or liberated from the fusion protein, and provide increased recognition and targeting of diseased organs, transport from the bloodstream across the endothelium into said diseased organ, and intracellular uptake and lysosomal trafficking by cells in them, both in peripheral tissues and the central nervous system. Representative nucleotide and amino acid sequences of these fusion proteins, as well as in vitro, cellular, and in vivo animal data are provided. The described proteins can be used as a protein therapy, a gene therapy, or an implanted cell therapy.

    摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses, for transform discrete voltage pulses to a continuous signal. One method may include receiving a pulsed-voltage signal. The method may also include alternately directing the pulsed-voltage signal between a pair of processing channels based on a modulation signal or another signal. The method may further include determining rate voltages corresponding to the pair of processing channels based on a pulse rate of the pulsed-voltage signal. Further, the method may include processing the rate voltages using low pass filters corresponding to the pair of processing channels to form filtered rate voltages. The method may also include determining a normalized differential output for the pair of processing channels based on the filtered rate voltages. The method may also include outputting the normalized differential output to an output connector.

    摘要: Highly transparent (up to 92% light transmittance) wood composites have been developed. The process of fabricating the transparent wood composites includes lignin removal followed by index-matching polymer infiltration resulted in fabrication of the transparent wood composites with preserved naturally aligned nanoscale fibers. The thickness of the transparent wood composite can be tailored by controlling the thickness of the initial wood substrate. The optical transmittance can be tailored by selecting infiltrating polymers with different refractive indices. The transparent wood composites have a range of applications in biodegradable electronics, optoelectronics, as well as structural and energy efficient building materials. By coating the transparent wood composite layer on the surface of GaAs thin film solar cell, an 18% enhancement in the overall energy conversion efficiency has been attained.

    摘要: An optical system has an illumination optical assembly, a detection optical assembly, a wavefront shaping device, and a controller. The illumination optical assembly focuses interrogating optical radiation to a focal point on or in a sample. The interrogating optical radiation propagates to the focal point along a first optical axis. The detection optical assembly direct optical radiation emanating from the focal point to a detector. The emanating optical radiation propagates from the focal point along a second optical axis. The wavefront shaping device is disposed in an optical path of the interrogating optical radiation or in an optical path of the emanating optical radiation. The controller sets a configuration of the wavefront shaping device to correct for aberration. The first optical axis is at a non-zero angle with respect to the second optical axis.

    摘要: The disclosure describes aspects of laser cavity optical alignment, and more particularly, in situ alignment of optical devices in an optical system for replacement or upgrade. In one aspect, a method for optical alignment in an optical system is described that includes providing, via a positioning system, an optical beam to measure surface features and position of a first device under test (DUT), removing the first DUT from the optical system, placing a second DUT in the optical system at substantially the same position from which the first DUT was removed, providing, via the positioning system, an optical beam to measure surface features and position of the second DUT, aligning the second DUT based on the measurements made of the first DUT and the second DUT, and verifying operation of the second DUT in the optical system. The DUT can be an optical device such as an output optical coupler.
