Abstract: A touch type distinguishing method may be provided for a touch input device including a touch screen. The method may determine a touch on the touch screen. For example, a touch on the touch screen may be determined as an authentication touch when a condition that the time period for which the input touch maintains is equal to or greater than the predetermined reference time period is satisfied prior to the long touch determination criterion time point. The touch on the touch screen may be determined as a long touch when the condition is not satisfied.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a touch sensor includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a spacer layer located between the first electrode and the second electrode. One of the first electrode and the second electrode is a drive electrode to which a drive signal is applied. The other one of the first electrode and the second electrode is a receiving electrode that receives the drive signal by a mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. When an external pressure is applied to the first electrode through a display, the first electrode is concavely bent toward the second electrode. The mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode changes according to a distance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The magnitude of the external pressure according to the change of the capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode is detected.

Abstract: A display device having a sensor coupled thereto according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a cover layer; a display panel disposed below the cover layer; an optical layer disposed below the display panel; and an image sensor disposed below the optical layer. The optical layer includes: a microlens array layer including a plurality of microlenses; and an aperture layer which is disposed below the microlens array layer and includes holes each spaced apart from the microlenses by a focal length of the microlens. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a distance from a fingerprint to a fingerprint sensor can be greatly decreased in comparison with a conventional technology. In addition, deterioration of fingerprint image quality due to scattered light can be reduced.

Abstract: A touch input device which includes a display module and is capable of detecting a pressure may be provided. The touch input device includes: a display module including a flat portion and at least one curved portion which extends from the flat portion and is curved with a predetermined curvature; and a pressure detection module which is formed under the display module and detects a touch pressure applied to a surface of the display module. The pressure detection module detects the touch pressure on the basis of a capacitance change amount according to a distance change between a reference potential layer and the pressure detection module. As a result, the touch input device including various types and forms of the display modules is capable of efficiently detecting the touch position and touch pressure.

Abstract: A hybrid stylus communicating with a touch input device according to an embodiment of the present invention may include a conductive tip that forms a capacitance with at least one of a plurality of electrodes in the touch input device, a first mode operation unit that operates with the touch input device based on a predetermined power, a second mode operation unit that operates by using a change in capacitance for at least one of the plurality of electrodes in the touch input device by the conductive tip, a switch configured to connect the conductive tip to the first mode operation unit or the second mode operation unit, a power supply unit that provides the predetermined power to the first mode operation unit, a communication unit that transmits mode conversion information for converting an operation mode of the touch input device to the touch input device, and a controller that checks the remaining amount of the power to control the switch to connect the conductive tip to the first mode operation unit when a remaining amount of the power is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold value and to control the switch to connect the conductive tip to the second mode operation unit when the remaining amount of the power is less than the predetermined threshold, and controls the communication unit to transmit the mode conversion information to the touch input device.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a touch input device may be provided. The method includes: a display forming step of forming a flexible display for a plurality of display devices on one carrier substrate, cutting the flexible display into individual pieces, and separating the flexible display from the carrier substrate; a pressure sensor forming step of forming a pressure sensor for the plurality of display devices on one substrate for the pressure sensor and cutting the substrate for the pressure sensor into individual pieces; and an adhering step of adhering the separated flexible display to the substrate for the pressure sensor, which has been cut into individual pieces. According to the embodiment of the present invention, the pressure sensor can be easily implemented on the flexible display.
