    摘要: An imaging apparatus includes a sheet picking mechanism drive unit that includes a sheet pick gear train for driving a sheet picking mechanism to transport a sheet from a stack of print media along the sheet feed path. A print media dam is pivotably coupled at an axis to the imaging apparatus. The print media dam has at least one dam member and a first gear. Each dam member has a media engaging surface. A drive mechanism is drivably coupled between the sheet picking drive mechanism and the first gear to move the dam member between an extended position and a retracted position. When the dam member is in the extended position, the media engaging surface is positioned to interrupt the sheet feed path. When the dam member is in the retracted position, the media engaging surface is positioned to not interrupt the sheet feed path.

The wavelength filter defines a temperature dependent center wavelength and a rate of wavelength drift per temperature change. The optical fiber is attachable about a fiber fast first attachment point and a fiber second attachment point to a housing having a generally hollow housing body for protecting the wavelength filter. The structure allows for both adjustment of the center wavelength and also for adjustment of the rate of wavelength drift per temperature change independently from the adjustment of the center wavelength. The wavelength excursion is typically adjusted by adjusting the spacing between the fiber first and second adjustment points. The center wavelength is typically independently adjusted by adjusting the tension imparted on the wavelength filter when the fiber is attached to the housing.

    摘要: A continuous rotation sampling scheme for use with a nuclear medicine gamma camera facilitates collection of transmission and emission data leading to a reduced overall scan time. The gantry (16) contains a plurality of radiation detector heads (20a-20c) with planar faces and at least one adjustably mounted radiation source (30a). During transmission data collection, the gantry (16) continuously rotates about a subject receiving aperture (18) while the radiation source (30a) continuously rasters back and forth across the field of view. The detected transmission radiation (32a) is reconstructed into an attenuation volumetric image representation by a transmission reconstruction processor (64t). The transmission reconstruction processor (64t) performs a fan beam reconstruction algorithm in each of a multiplicity of planes perpendicular to an axis of rotation. An angular displacement versus radiation source motion index is calculated in order to update the transmission reconstruction for a sampled data line of transmission radiation. Such continuous rotation during transmission data acquisition reduces overall scan time by eliminating the dead time during which the gantry rotates and comes to rest at incremental angular orientations.

A contouring device (40) runs a contouring operation wherein the translation means (22a-c) translates the detector heads (20a-c) laterally, and the contouring device (40) measures outer boundaries of the subject (12) in response to the transmission radiation (32a-c) received by the detector heads (20a-c).

    摘要: A transmission radiation source assembly suitable for use in both SPECT and PET imaging includes a line source assembly having a medium energy transmission source. The line source assembly includes a primary collimator rotatably disposed about the medium energy transmission source. The primary collimator includes one or more beam limiting slots for shaping the width of a transmission beam emitted from the line source. An on/off collimator is rotatably disposed about the primary collimator and serves to control the on/off state of the line source. The on/off collimator includes a beam exit slot which, when aligned with one of the beam limiting slots allows the transmission beam to exit the line source. In order to sweep the transmission beam across an opposing detector head, the primary collimator and on/off collimator are synchronously rotated about an axis of rotation of the line source with the on/off collimator in the “on” position. In order to reduce the possibility of over saturating an opposing detector head with radiation from the line source, the rate at which the primary collimator and on/off collimator are rotated is such that the transmission beam spends greater time in regions of the examination region having high attenuation characteristics and shorter time in regions having low attenuation characteristics.

    摘要: A gamma camera system includes a rotatable gantry supporting multiple detector heads each capable of receiving radiation from a region of interest of a subject disposed in an examination region. Each of the detector heads include a collimator which substantially defines the resolution and sensitivity of the respective detector head. At least two of the detector heads include collimators providing different resolution. Preferably, one of the collimators provides a detector head with substantially high resolution and another provides a detector head with substantially high sensitivity. An operator selectively combines image data detected by each of the multiple detector heads. If desired, the operator combine the image data from the multiple detector heads in a variety of manners to obtain images of various resolution and sensitivity from a single imaging procedure. The operator may also selectively weight the contribution that the image data from each of the detector heads has in the overall image. As yet another option, the operator may choose to combine only a high energy portion of the image data so as to minimize the amount of scatter events which are included in a final image.
