It is an objective of this invention to provide a method which allows to produce digital watermarks on paper without being limited in the gloss properties of the toner, the paper or and selected fusing technology. The present invention relates to a method producing clear, low density or highdensity watermarks using Glossmark technology using low-pigmented toner or clear toner. Glossmark technology is for controlling the differential gloss of an image using the steps selecting a first halftone image having a first anisotropic structure, selecting a second halftone image having a second structure different from that of the first halftone, applying the first halftone to at least some portion of the halftone image and applying the second halftone to another portion of the halftone image.

    摘要: Images produced by electrophotography are often subjected to harsh conditions, such as high temperature and high relative humidity conditions. Prints when subjected to face-to-face stacking under these conditions tend to stick and are difficult to separate without damage. Ethylene-bis-stearamide is incorporated in a protective toner formulation employing a toner binder having a higher glass transition temperature than that of the conventional CYMK colored image toners employed to provide a protective layer in fused images. Further, ethylene-bis-stearamide does not interfere with typical oil release additives used in fuser rollers. By combining ethylene-bis-stearamide with polyalkane waxes having a weight average molecular weight of equal to or greater than 2000 and a poly dispersity of less than 2.0, addition protection can be realized.

A heater reheats the bend area of the receiver so that temperature of the toner in the bend area rises above its Tg, so that the toner contracts and the receiver bends at the bend axis.

    摘要: A method for producing an antenna structure for an RFID device, a dry toner for use in producing an antenna for an RFID device and a RFID device comprising an antenna structure made of fused toner are disclosed. In a method for producing an antenna structure for an RFID device, a dry toner comprising a polymeric binder and metallic particles is provided. The toner comprises particles having a resistance allowing triboelectric charging or a resistance allowing inductive charging, wherein said metallic particles are nanoparticles having a mean particle size below approximately 500 nm in at least one direction. In the method, a continuous layer of the dry toner is applied to a substrate in a desired shape of an antenna via an electrophotographic printing process, and subsequently the toner is fused to the substrate by heating the toner above its glass transformation temperature. The dry toner for use in producing an antenna for an RFID device comprises toner particles having a resistance allowing triboelectric charging or a resistance allowing inductive charging. The toner particles comprise a polymeric binder and metallic particles, wherein said metallic particles are nanoparticles having a mean particle size below approximately 500 nm in at least one direction.

    摘要: The present invention is a method for the preparation of electrostatographic toner including the following steps. A first dispersion is prepared with a solvent, a silicone wax, and a hyperdispersant. The first dispersion is added to an organic solvent containing a polymer material to form an organic phase. The organic phase is dispersed in an aqueous phase containing a particulate stabilizer to form a second dispersion. The second dispersion is homogenized. The organic solvent is evaporated from the second dispersion and the resultant product is recovered, washed and dried. In an alternate method the hyperdispersant is added directly to the organic phase before mixing with the aqueous phase.
