摘要: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for generating a human memorable resource name. Both a first part of the resource name and a second part of the resource name are generated, where both parts respectively comprise a memorable alphanumeric string (e.g., easily remembered). The first and second parts of the resource name are combined with an intervening separator symbol to generate the first resource name, comprising the first part, the symbol, and the second part. The first resource name is compared against a desired threshold to determine if it can be used as the name for the resource. If the first resource name does not meet the threshold a second resource name is generated for the resource.

摘要: Data files, applications and/or corresponding user interfaces may be accessed at a device that collaborates in a mesh. The mesh may include any number or type of devices that collaborate in a network. Data, applications and/or corresponding user interfaces may be stored within a core object that may be shared over the mesh. Information in the core object may be identified with a corresponding user such that a user may use any collaborating device in the mesh to access the information. In one example, the information is stored remotely from a device used to access the information. A remote source may store the desired information or may determine the storage location of the desired information in the mesh and may further provide the desired information to a corresponding user.

摘要: A storage manager represents XML-compliant documents as a collection of objects in memory, allowing the storage manager to manipulate the document, or parts of the document, with a consistent interface and to provide for features that are not available in conventional XML documents, such as element attributes with types other than text and documents that contain binary rather than text information. The XML-compliant document may be associated with a schema document which defines the arrangement of the document elements and attributes. The schema data associated with a document can contain a mapping between document elements and program code to be associated with each element. The storage manager further has methods for retrieving the code from the element tag. The retrieved code can then be invoked using attributes and content from the associated element and the element then acts like a conventional object.

摘要: A storage manager represents XML-compliant documents as a collection of objects, each associated with an element of the XML document. The objects are created with a hierarchy that conforms to the hierarchy of elements in the XML document. Access to the document is then through methods of the objects exposed to application programs through a programming interface. The methods provide a consistent interface to documents regardless of how the data associated with the documents is stored in memory. Consequently, the underlying content of XML documents can be stored using a distributed virtual object system that provides a mechanism for multiple processes to access each object. As an example of the benefits of such a storage manager, the storage manager may be used to maintain a telespace, such as may store information shared by multiple users participating in a collaboration session.

摘要: Systems and methods of distributed storage are disclosed herein. A request to store data in a client computer is received. A request is sent from the client computer to a storage service to create a core object such that the core object can be created with a member entry to a member feed in the core object. The member feed can be indicative of one or more entities that are permitted to access to the core object. A message is received at the client computer with the core object. A replica of the core object on the client computer is created. The client computer can add the data as a data entry to a data feed in the core object. An updating message is sent to the storage service. The message can include a copy of the replica of the core object including the data entry.

摘要: Content management architecture for a portable wireless device. Caching and fetching techniques are provided to improve content handling for portable devices such as cellular telephones and portable computers. A search component automatically performs searches as a background process, and potentially desired content is received and cached by a content storing component to be available in the future when and if needed, mitigating latency associated with slow download speeds, refresh rates, and other system and/or network impediments. Content from background search results can be trickled into the device as part of the background process so as not to burden system resources for other processes. As part of memory management, aged and/or low priority or low interest content can be selectively removed or archived to increase available cache or memory space, as well as to maintain relevant content within the device. A presentation component facilitates presentation of the pre-stored content.
