摘要： An automatic pencil which comprises a pointed end cap made of a synthetic resin material into which a lead pushing-out mechanism consisting of a lead chuck fixed to a lead container, a chuck ring externally fitted onto the lead chuck and a spring is inserted, a cushion stopper on the outer periphery of which and at one end thereof engaging projections are integrally formed so as to oppose to a plurality of engaging holes circumferentially provided around an open edge of the pointed end cap, and an outer tube into which the outer periphery of the backward end of the aforesaid pointed end cap is inserted to combine them with each other and, as a consequence, the resultant automatic pencil has a simple construction, so that it can easily be assembled.

摘要： A lead cartridge that is provided with a tank part for storing leads and is capable of being detachably connected to a receiving part provided in a lead feeding mechanism of a mechanical pencil to supply a lead can reduce costs for manufacturing the lead cartridge and the number of manufacturing steps and can prevent a lead from falling out from the lead cartridge inadvertently.The lead cartridge 10 includes a case 12 and a swing cover 14. A tank part 12a is defined inside the case 12 and the tip end part of the case 12 is formed with an open tip end connection part 12b. Between the tank part 12a and the tip end connection part 12b, a lead port 12e is formed. The swing cover 14 is mounted in the case 12 swingably to a closing position where the swing cover 14 closes the lead port 12e and to an opening position where the swing cover 14 opens the lead port 12e. The swing cover 14 includes an interfered part 14c capable of being interfered with an interference part 46e of a cartridge receiving part 46b of the mechanical pencil. The swing cover 14 is biased in a swing direction from the opening position to the closing position but swings from the closing position to the opening position when the tip end connection part 12b is fitted with the cartridge receiving part 46b so as to cause the interfered part 14c to be interfered with the interference part 46e.

A lead cartridge which includes a lead tank for containing leads and is detachably incorporated into a mechanical pencil to supply leads has a rod-shaped object feeding mechanism which propels the rod-shaped object by turning manipulation. This rod-shaped object feeding mechanism is configured of a spiral groove formed in the inner circumferential surface of a case comprising the lead tank, a guide sleeve which is arranged in the case to be unable to move in the axial direction and able to turn relative to the case and in which guide holes extending in the axial direction are formed, and a receptacle which is slidably fitted into the guide holes of the guide sleeve and has a male thread screwing into the spiral groove. A rod-shaped object is held by the receptacle. When the lead cartridge is incorporated into a mechanical pencil, the case becomes unable to turn relative to the outer sleeve of the mechanical pencil, and part of the guide sleeve protrudes out of the mechanical pencil.
