In some embodiments, a Voice over IP (VoIP) conversation is sampled for audio information such as a word, phrase, utterance, or phoneme that may be associated with an advertisement in a database. The database may be searched for the audio information, or in some embodiments a text equivalent of the audio information, and the associated advertisement may be served to a participant in the VoIP communication session. In some implementations, data from or about the conversation may be compiled for analysis.

    摘要: A method and system for providing a user interface for a handheld device that can be operated with one hand renders multiple items on the screen of the handheld device that are designed to match the footprint of a thumb or other finger. A user selects an item in the user interface by pressing it with their finger. The handheld interface system receives the user's selection as an area of the screen that the user touched. The handheld interface system determines a probability that each of the multiple items rendered on the screen was the focus of the user's selection. Then, the handheld interface system displays a subsequent screen based on the determined probability.

    摘要: To improve the performance of a standard monitor interconnect, e.g., a VGA monitor interconnect, a display adaptor of a computer device generates reference signal patterns which are used to calibrate the signals received by an interconnected display monitor. The monitor receives the reference signal patterns from the computer over the interconnect with the analog display signals, e.g., during the blanking intervals of the signals, and adjusts the signals based upon a detected deviation of the reference signals from corresponding control values. In one embodiment, the computer device generates and sends reference signal patterns if it receives from the monitor confirmation that it is equipped to perform calibration based upon received reference signal patterns, and operates normally (without reference signal pattern generation) otherwise.
