摘要: Described is a technology by which a mobile computing device such as a mobile telephone operates differently based on detected proximity to another mobile device with which the first mobile device has a defined relationship. For example, the first mobile device may transfer content to the second mobile computing device when proximity corresponds to a non-cellular communications coupling, such as Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi coupling. In this manner, content transfer is deferred until a non-cellular coupling exists. The mobile device (or both devices) may output a notification to indicate that the other mobile computing device has been detected within a threshold proximity, such as via GPS data or by being within the same cellular tower. The type and/or settings of an output notification may vary based on different thresholds.

摘要: A connection manager manages connections for associated user devices by determining whether an incoming connection has been answered at a user device, and if so then generating and transmitting silencing commands to associated user devices using first and second wireless communication modes, with one mode being faster. Connections can comprise phone calls, and modes can comprise push and Bluetooth® messaging. The connection manager can instruct device outputs to provide connection alerts, limited to visual alerts when an associated user device is active, listen for associated user device communications, and instruct device outputs to stop providing alerts when a silencing command is received. Further, a connection manager can receive a signal regarding a headset status, route an outside connection from a phone to the headset when the headset is active or to another device when the headset is not active, detect a change in headset status, and reroute the connection accordingly.

Specifically, location awareness technology is leveraged to identify individuals near an intended recipient of a communication. Through review and analysis of information related to the individuals gathered from social networking outlets (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and/or gathered from the recipient's communication device, a classification is assigned to each individual. Based on the classifications, a determination is made as to whether the intended communication mode is to be allowed.

摘要: This disclosure relates to system and method for managing an unsuccessful communication session between a source user and a target user. In one embodiment, the method comprises determining a plurality of correlative contacts between the source user and the target user from one or more communication platforms, and scoring the plurality of correlative contacts based on one or more proximity parameters among the source user, each of the plurality of correlative contacts, and the target user. The method further comprises generating an initial set of correlative contacts based on the scoring, presenting the initial set of correlative contacts along with a plurality of selectable communication recourses, initiating a communication with at least one of the initial set of correlative contacts upon selection of a corresponding communication recourse, and providing a plurality of selectable recourses to reach out to the target user based on the communication.

摘要: Described herein are systems, apparatuses, and methods for performing proximity-based authentication operations using received signal strength indicator (RSSI) values. An expected proximity of devices to be paired is used to determine whether to execute a wireless personal area network (WPAN) connection process. This expected proximity is correlated with the RSSI value of received signals. By utilizing the RSSI value of received signals, embodiments do not utilize any additional hardware for performing the described proximity-based authentication process, and in some implementations, do not utilize any additional processes or routines to determine an RSSI value (e.g., some devices utilize RSSI values in order to adjust output power levels of transmitted signals, and thus, already execute processes or routines to determine RSSI values).
