The first and second viewing panels are controllable by a control device to capture an image and display an image. In a method, a first image is captured by the first viewing panel and a second image is captured by the second viewing panel. The first captured image is displayed on the second viewing panel and the second captured image is displayed on the first viewing panel. The viewing direction of the first viewing panel is opposed to the viewing direction of the second viewing panel.

The book binding method using the book cover or system can be performed without special skills or training, and does not require the use of ancillary equipment. The book cover and system can be used in conjunction with output on a wide variety of media types, finishes, and stock weights from any type of printer or copier, or with photographs. The finished books retain the appearance and function of conventional mass produced soft and hard covered books.
