    摘要: A process for the preparation of toner which comprises(i) preparing a pigment dispersion comprised of a pigment dispersed in an ionic surfactant;(ii) shearing said pigment dispersion with a latex or emulsion blend comprised of resin particles and a counterionic surfactant;(iii) heating the above sheared blend below the glass transition temperature (Tg) of said resin particles to form electrostatically bound toner size aggregates;(iv) adding a stabilizer of in situ tricalcium phosphate solid particulants generated from a solution of calcium chloride and trisodium phosphate;(v) heating the mixture of (iii) and (iv) above about the Tg of the resin particles to obtain toner size particles comprised of resin and pigment;(vi) washing with an acid to dissolve the trisodium phosphate; and(vii) optionally washing with water, and optionally drying the toner obtained.

    摘要: A process for the preparation of toner comprising(i) preparing, or providing an aqueous colorant dispersion, which dispersion is comprised of a colorant and an ionic surfactant in water;(ii) blending said colorant dispersion with a latex emulsion comprised of resin particles, a nonionic surfactant, and an ionic surfactant of opposite charge polarity to that of the ionic surfactant in said colorant dispersion;(iii) heating the resulting mixture below about the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the latex resin to form toner sized aggregates;(iv) heating the resulting aggregate suspension of (iii) above about the Tg of the latex resin; and(v) retaining the temperature in the range of from about 30.degree. C. to about 95.degree. C., and subsequently, adding an aqueous solution of boric acid, or an aqueous solution of a metal salt; adjusting the pH of the resulting reaction mixture to from about 9 to about 12 by the addition of a base, followed by the addition of a salicylic acid or catechol; and optionally(vi) isolating, washing and drying the toner obtained.

    摘要: A toner is disclosed that includes a toner binder of crystalline sulfonated polyester, wherein the crystalline sulfonated polyester is 90% by weight or more of the toner binder, and a colorant. In other embodiments, the toner includes a crystalline sulfonated polyester and a linear amorphous sulfonated polyester, and a colorant. In these embodiments, the crystalline sulfonated polyester is from about 20% to about 60% by weight of the toner binder and the linear amorphous sulfonated polyester is from about 40% to about 80% by weight of the toner binder. The toners possess excellent miniumum fixing temperatures in the range of from about 80° C. to about 130° C. Processes for preparing the toners are also described.
