摘要: An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes toner particles each including a toner core and a shell layer. The shell layer includes first and second domains. The first domain includes a first copolymer of a first main monomer having a mole fraction of at least 20 mol % and one or more first additional monomers each having a mole fraction of less than 20 mol %. The second domain includes a second copolymer of a second main monomer having a mole fraction of at least 20 mol % and one or more second additional monomers each having a mole fraction of less than 20 mol %. A difference in polymer SP value between the first and second main monomers is at least 0.5 and no greater than 5.0. The first and second additional monomers each include one or more common monomers having a homopolymerization glass transition point of no greater than −20° C.

A relationship represented by |ζ(3)−ζ(4)|>|ζ(6)−ζ(7)| is satisfied. ζ(3), ζ(4), ζ(6), and ζ(7) represent zeta potentials of the positively chargeable toner with the toner particles having no external additive. ζ(3), ζ(4), ζ(6), and ζ(7) are respectively measured in an aqueous medium at pH 3, pH 4, pH 6, and pH 7.

The toner mother particle includes a toner core (11) and a shell layer (12) covering a surface of the toner core (11). The shell layer (12) includes film-shaped first domains (12a) and particle-shaped second domains (12b). The first domains (12a) are substantially formed from a non-cross-linked resin. The second domains (12b) are substantially formed from a cross-linked resin. The cross-linked resin has a glass transition point higher by 40° C. or more than that of the non-cross-linked resin. The first domains (12a) have a surface adsorption force of at least 20.0 nN and no greater than 40.0 nN. The second domains (12b) have a surface adsorption force of at least 4.0 nN and less than 20.0 nN.

摘要: The present invention relates to a toner for electrostatic charge image development, including toner base particles containing a binder resin containing as a main component a vinyl resin having a constitutional unit derived from a monomer having an acid group, and aluminum, wherein a concentration of the aluminum in the toner base particles, as measured by radio inductively coupled plasma emission spectral analysis, is from 900 to 2,200 ppm. According to the present invention, there is provided a means for improving the environmental stability of electrification, and the glossiness and the image density of the image to be formed in a good balance while maintaining sufficient low temperature fixability in a toner for electrostatic charge image development.

摘要: A chemically prepared toner composition according to one example embodiment includes a core including a first polymer binder, a colorant and a release agent; a shell that is formed around the core that includes a second polymer binder; and a borax coupling agent between the core and the shell and an alkoxysilane hydrocarbon or combination of different alkoxysilane hydrocarbons that are bonded to the outer surface of the shell using a hydrolytic deposition process. This successful alkoxysilane hydrocarbon surface treatment on the outer surface of the toner particle results in attaining a desirable charge stability in hot and humid environments and ultimately improving the quality of the toner, especially by reducing toner dusting, toner fuming and ultra-fine particles generation.
