摘要： Clamps are provided for shortening a venetian type blind to fit windows of different lengths. The clamp has two portions connected by hinge. The two portions are fastened together on a lift cord and ladder below the slat at the desired shortened length. At least two clamps are used to shorten the blind. After the clamps are applied the blind is shortened by removing that portion of the blind below the clamps. This can be done by releasing each lift cord from the bottomrail and pulling the lift cord from the bottomrail through the slats to be removed. The excess slats are removed. Then the ladders are detached from the bottomrail, shortened and reattached to the bottomrail. The lift cords are then reconnected to the bottomrail and the clamps are removed. Alternatively, the clamps which grip the ladders and lift cords can be attached to the bottomrail.

摘要： A venetian type blind has a length adjustable bottomrail to fit windows of different lengths. A cord stop device is attached to each lift cord and each cord stop device is shaped such that when the device is attached to a lift cord the cord stop device can be removably connected to a retainer in the bottomrail and when not connected to the retainer will orient itself to be self-guiding through route holes in selected slats when the lift cord is pulled through the selected slats. The blind is shortened by releasing each cord stop device from its retainer and passing the device and attached lift cord from the bottomrail through the slats to be removed to the slat at the desired length. The excess slats are removed. Then the ladders are detached from the bottomrail, shortened and reattached to the bottomrail. The cord stop devices are then reconnected to their respective retainers in the bottomrail to complete the shortening process.

摘要： A venetian type blind has a bottomrail, a headrail positioned above the bottomrail and a set of slats. Upper slats or no slats are carried on a set of upper ladders extending from the headrail and a set of lower ladders extending from the bottomrail. Each upper ladder is connected to a lower ladder by a connection device that connects an upper ladder rail to a lower ladder rail. Alternatively, all of the ladders can be connected to a single rail located between the headrail and the bottomrail. The upper ladders are connected to a tilt mechanism. At least two lift cords are attached to the bottomrail, running past slats through the headrail. At least two tilt cords are provided. Each tilt cord runs through the headrail, passing adjacent to one rail of an upper ladder and is connected to either one connector or a rail of the ladder adjacent to a connector.

摘要： A bottom stacking and top stacking venetian type blind has a fixed headrail containing a tilt mechanism which tilts the lift cords as well as the movingrail and bottomrail, maintains the centerline plane and center of gravity in the same place throughout the operation of the blind, and provides cord locks for the two sets of lift cords. This blind consists of the fixed headrail containing both tilting and lifting mechanisms; a one-piece or two-piece movingrail; a one-piece or two-piece bottomrail; and a plurality of slats which rest on ladders between the bottomrail and movingrail. The ladders are typically made of cord, but the hardware of this blind will also accommodate fabric tape or sheet ladders. There will always be at least one pair of lift cords which control the movingrail; one cord in the front, and one in the rear. The bottomrail will also have two lift cords passing through, one on each side, if it is a single rail; or four cords for a double rail. A preferred embodiment contains an axle driven cord collecion system.

摘要： An apparatus for providing stiffness to the upper end of an elongated section of drapery fabric which selectably allows the drapery fabric to be readily foldable when stiffness is not needed. The apparatus also connects the drapery to an overhead, traverse supporting rail, such as by an arrangement of hooks and eyelets or rotatable pendants. The apparatus includes an insert member made of a flexible, relatively stiff material which may be one continuous strip or a series of segments. The apparatus also includes member mountable to the drapery that is made of flexible, readily-foldable material. The insert member and the mounting member are configured so that the insert member may be engaged with the mounting member. When the insert member is engaged with the mounting member, the insert member and mounting member are not readily foldable and provide stiffness to support the drapery fabric between pendants. When the insert member is disengaged from the mounting member, the entire drapery fabric, including the upper end of the drapery fabric to which the mounting member is attached is uniformly foldable.

摘要： A light controllable drapery system has a first track from which a drapery is hung and a parallel, second track from which vertical vanes are hung. Both the drapery and the vertical vanes are suspended from carriers which are sliceable along their respective tracks. At least one connector connects a carrier on the first track to a carrier on the second track to enable carriers on the first track to move concurrently with carriers on the second track. A pusher is provided on each vane which pushes the drapery along the drapery track when the vanes are moved from an open position to a closed position so that the drapery does not become entangled between the vanes during that movement.

A number of thin, elongated strands connect the first material to the second material. When used with window shades, the first and second material sections may be pleated panels, or one section may be a pleated panel and the other may be a number of transverse ribbons. Confronting pleats of the two pleated panels may be connected by the strands, forming a honeycomb shade, or the pleats of the pleated panel may each be connected to a transverse ribbon. Additionally, an intermediary piece, such as a slat or a flexible strip may lie between and be connected by groups of strands along opposed sides of the intermediary piece to confronting pleats or between each pleat and its respective ribbon, forming a venetian-type structure.

摘要： A cord connector for releasably connecting multiple operating cords for a window covering. The cord connector has at least two side members supported for pivotal movement relative to each other between a closed condition in which the side members are in sidewise adjacent relation and an open condition in which at least upper portions of the side members are laterally spaced apart. Jaws on side members provide downwardly facing shoulders for engaging cord stops on the operating cords and the jaws have jaw edges operative when the side members are in the closed condition for laterally confining portions of the operating cords superjacent the stops to positions in which the cord stops engage the downwardly facing shoulders. The side members have lateral cord abutment portions spaced above the cord retaining means and arranged to form segments of a closed cord abutment loop dimensioned to loosely surround the operating cords at the upper end of the cord connector when the side members are in the closed condition. The jaws are operative when the side members are in the open condition to release lateral confinement of the operating cords superjacent the cord stops and allow movement of the operating cords and the cord stops thereon independent of the connector means and independent of each other.
