摘要： An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a post-processing apparatus that performs post-processing on sheets discharged from the image forming apparatus. The image forming system includes a feeding unit configured to store a plurality of sheets and successively feed the sheets; a stack unit configured to stack sheets processed by the post-processing apparatus; a state detection unit configured to detect a predetermined state of the stack unit; and a control unit configured to restrict the number of sheets fed from the feeding unit so that the number of sheets existing in a sheet conveyance path extending from the feeding unit to the stack unit does not exceed a predetermined number. The predetermined number is the number of sheets that the post-processing apparatus can receive from the image forming apparatus after detection of the predetermined state by the state detection unit.

The bookbinding system includes an image forming unit to form an image on a recording sheet; a loading unit to load, as a bookblock stack, plural recording sheets on which images are formed; a bonding unit to form a booklet by bonding a cover with the bookblock stack; a setting unit to set a bookblock size, a cover size, and a finishing size; a cutting unit to cut the booklet bonded together with the cover into the finishing size; a stack thickness detection unit to detect a thickness of the bookblock stack; and a bookbinding permission/inhibition determination unit to determine permission/inhibition of a bookbinding operation based on a stack thickness detection result as well as the bookblock size, the cover size, and the finishing size set by the setting unit.

摘要： A sample book for wall covering samples, decorative fabrics and the like is disclosed. The sample book comprises a cover member which includes first and second substantially planar cover sections hingedly joined to a substantially planar spine section, a plurality of individual sample sheets arranged in a stack, and a pair of tear-resistant holding strips disposed along one edge and on opposite sides of the stack of sample sheets. The stack of sample sheets are bound together between the holding strips by means of staples or the like to form an edge portion defined by the edges of the sample sheets between the holding strips. The edge portion is adhesively secured to the spine section of the cover member to form the sample book. In this manner, a sturdy sample book is provided in which the first and second cover sections may each be hingedly opened to lie in substantially the same plane as the planar spine section to facilitate easy and substantially full viewing of the sample sheets.

摘要： A bookbinding machine which comprises a reference plate, an adhesive applicator, a cover applicator and a milling device. The adhesive applicator and the cover applicator are arranged on one side of the reference plate while the milling device is arranged on the opposite side thereof. A clamping device clamps a plurality of piled sheets of paper to be bound into a book standing on its edge surface or back on the reference plate. A selector is provided so as to selectively move the clamping device from above the reference plate in either of the two opposite directions. When the clamping device has been moved to the milling device, a controller causes the clamping device to return from the milling device to the reference plate, where the clamping device temporarily releases the book so as to adjust the level of the back of the book to that of the reference plate and clamps the book again to carry it to the adhesive applicator and then to the cover applicator and finally back to the reference plate.
